All Rebels, as well as the 77D are all plastic bodies. The 77D is the number Canon chose for the T6S upgrade rather than calling it a T7S.

There is no 'Rebel' label attached to the new 77D, even though it is the T6s replacement.

I've been on the forum for nine months.
I'm considering a new camera body.
When I was comparing a Canon 80D against a 77D, one uhh member stated that the 77D was still a Rebel.
I understand that a xD is a Full Frame "professional" camera.
I understand that a a x0D is a Crop Sensor "intermediate" camera.
And I understand that a Rebel (or xxD) is a Crop Sensor "entry level" camera.

My question is: "What exactly is a Canon Rebel camera, or what is it not?"

I have not seen this defined in all my reading. And I know that my understanding may or may not be correct. I'm here to learn, do being corrected on my knowledge is not a problem.

I've been researching the Canon 77D too, because it has a considerably smaller body/form factor than the 80D. It is actually considered part of the regular EOS line now, and is not labeled a 'Rebel,' unlike The T6s. However, it is the replacement model for the T6s.

I have just started using Lightroom and tried to post a picture here, but I can not figure it out.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

First you need to Export the picture to a specific pictures folder on your computer. (Export is in the File menu in Lightroom) Then on UHH, click the choose file, select the picture from the folder & click choose (click download original box if you would like users to see a larger version of the pic), then click upload.

I’m trying to find a replacement for a lens that came with my camera and haven’t been able to find one online. It’s a Nikkor AF-S 18mm - 55mm lens for the Nikon D5100

It looks like this lens is currently out of stock and backordered. Adorama and B & H Photo both have used versions of this lens for sale on their websites. They are both reputable online photo stores. If you prefer to buy new, you could choose another lens, or wait for them return to stock.

Thanks for your reply.

I assume you are using a computer with the portable hard drive. I am trying to avoid the weight of a laptop.

If you have a better idea, please let me know.

A Macbook Air is thin and light with the power and convenience of a laptop. Easy to take along almost anywhere, and works well for Post Processing, too.

I NEVER go near the sand with any of my equipment. Sand and external/internal areas of your lenses never has a happy ending. As to snow, as long as your equipment is WEATHER SEALED, their should not be a problem. For rain I always carry a couple of plastic grocery bags in my pocket. If it starts to rain I put my camera and lens into the bag until it stops raining, then I remove it from the plastic grocery bag.

This policy must certainly limit your ability to take pictures in many beautiful places. Certainly would limit travel photography, etc.
