Thanks pugfan. This was taken at Hanmer Springs in Winter. Pity you can't travel this far. Same for us to come your way. Our desire is go to through teh Panama Canal, but the thought of sitting in a sardine can for 12+ hours is a no no.
Thanks Leicaflex. Watch out for those earthquakes in your parts!
May I suggest many weeks to really see this country. It may look small on a map. I have been here 48 years and have only managed to see some of it.
Hi Donnz, While thinking up a suitable title for this forum, it was nudging 30°C with 99% humidity - it was tropical!
Some weeks on and we had a touch of frost. May have to reconsider the avatar.

Pleased to see there are a few train buffs out there. Taken at Arthurs Pass, NZ Southern Alps, this trio are used as bankers for trains (mainly coal) through the tough 5½ mile 1 in 33 gradient Otira tunnel. A very wet place and yes, it was raining for this shot.
Why Valenta - Remember the awesome sound of the manic scream of a Valenta powered HST!
A view of Christchurch, NZ after the devastating 2012 earthquake. Taken from a moving bus window in low light.
