Would love to hear you general thoughts on this shot

This is very nice, I think you need the branches to tell you where this was taken, A picture of just the moose wouldn't cut it with me.

"Refurbished" is a description reserved for new or near-new equipment returned to manufacturer, then offered again for sale. Technically not used, but since previously sold, not "new".

Getting a camera overhauled is usually nowhere near as expensive as a new purchase, or even a refurb purchase.

For a quote, contact Rick Riggins, an accomplished, independent camera repairman: http://www.discountcamerarepair.com .

I have a Nikon D2x that I have used alot and want to get it refurbished. Just curious as to what it would cost, and is it worth it. Maybe just another newer camera would be better, opinions please.

I use the rule of fifths for focus. If you can recognize the subject after a fifth, then it must be in focus!

What a shame about the crooked glass in front of a beautiful background!

I like that 5th thing, make sense also

Ha Ha!

Rules are meant to broken - 2/3's photo equipment - 1/3 alcohol

I try 2/3's beer- 1/3rd equipment-- most of the time it doesn't work- but it was fun trying- I think

Why are these pictures the exposure is fine on the bottom third yet the top 2 thirds is very red shifted. I know what red shifted is in Astronomy but it doesn’t apply here- I think. Is there away of fixing this. I don’t have Elements, what I do have is Nikons Capture NX2.

The brightest, most reflective area of your subjects are in the bottom third of the pix and the top areas fade away to, basically, no background at all.
Thanks twowindsbear I got some help from some of the Hogittes and was able to do it with my Nikon Software.

Is there a way to fix it in PP? Probably, but not with my skills.

Hey Doc ..... you did a very good job on these but it the op should get good Nikon flash ..... Nikon SLR without a Nikon flash is like a peanut butter and jelly sandwich without the jelly .....

Thanks I don't do to much flash Photography and when I do I use my F4s film camera with my SB 25 flash, I was lazy this time as I knew there would be alot of drinking involved and i figured the D200 would be good enough. Well as it turns out all it did was give me alot more time to put in-- Live and learn I guess. But I will probably get a flash for the digital stuff.

Swede your flash is not the correct one. You need a good flash that goes in the hot shoe. It seems to me your flash is falling off a bit. You also will need a diffuser to spread the flash more evenly. This is my opinion.
