I agree, that is why I went for it, everything you said is true, until you need support. I got the address right from where it says support. I re installed a couple of times as some of you have suggested, with no change at all. I am going to chalk it up to lesson learned.

You couldn't be more correct, Caveat emptor--Buyer beware. We have all had stupid days, and this was mine. I just wanted to warn others. but thanks for pointing that out for me.

Thanks for your interest and thanks to all of you. The program that came with my scanner (IJ Scan Utility) isn't bad, and it is fairly quick. I simply thought there might be something a little better out there. As my mother would say be satisfied with what you have. ----- yes Mom -- Thanks to all, I love this site.

I think that you may be correct. In the many Emails back and forth, I noticed that he didn't know anything about a Mac. I do know that like you, it does work on older PCs. The thing that I was most upset about was that he simply didn't care if it worked or not. He got his money and that was all that mattered. Count yourself lucky, because every website I went too had numerous complaints about him. I should have checked around a little, if I had, I wouldn't have the problem. Thanks for your input.

Scanning slides is for sure time consuming, but worth it and my Canon scanner is a good one. I did what you suggested, but it just didn't work. It was bad enough that the software didn't work, but the arrogance the company showed was the icing on the cake for me.

I had to do a slide show for a funeral that required a lot of scanning, so I Thought I would upgrade my software for my scanner, ( Canon 9000F Markll ) in order to get the best detail. So I looked at what was available on the net, and found VueScan. Seemed to be within the price range and it said that it was Mac comparable as well.
I downloaded the trial version and. Did my first scan. It seemed slow, but otherwise ok. Naturally there were VueSan watermarks all over the photo as I expected. The next scan was from a negative and a message came up and told me that in order to scan Negatives and Slides you must have the pro. version. But to get the pro version, one must have the basic version first. So I foolishly bought both versions and did another scan, and the water marks were still there. I reloaded the both the basic and pro version again, jumped through all the hoops that I was supposed to and nothing changed.
So I thought I would call their Tech. Dept. and they would be able to talk me through the process and fix the problem, but there is just one problem, They Don;t have a Tech Dept, that you can talk to. Everything is done through Email and the response is slow. By this time I am thinking this might be a SCAN SCAM. Finally I get an answer back with a laundry list of possible fixes. I very carefully tried them all, but the watermarks were still on everything that I printed. By this time I was getting extremely short on time. I sent a message to
Ed Hamrick <vuescan@gmail.com> explaining the time problem and asked him for a refund. I got the answer back within minuts ALL SALES ARE FINAL, THERE ARE NO REFUNDS. I explained the time problem, but he just kept on sending me same list of things to try, and letting me know that there were no refunds. I have sense done some checking on the Net and there are complaints all over the net. I sent him a Email telling him that there were a lot of people out there that was really mad at him and his answer back to me was believe it or not ——————-And yet my revenues are at an all-time high.  Go figure. This answer showed me the kind of ethics that this person goes by. It sounds like it is a one man operation and he doesn’t have to answer to anyone. Just thought you all would like to know

I completely understand, I have a Border collie named Smudgey, and he is my best friend as well. I would be lost without him. Your Dog looks like a fine guy. Glad you appreciate him.

I own a 6D and love it. It is always better to get the latest in technology as apposed to something used, if the budget permits. I think you would be happy with the 6D.

First of all FF exists because one of the rules of digital photography is the larger the sensor --- the higher the quality of the image. FF cameras are more expensive because they will produce a better images ---- Period. Better resolution - better color -- Better enlargements, and even though I have spent thousands of hours in the dark room with film. FF images are better than anything that I ever shot with a 4X5 speed Graphic on Panatomic X film. Ask yourself how important are the photos? Is Photography your passion? Do you get a thrill out of obtaining that just right image? Would you rather shoot pictures than have lunch, then maybe a good FF camera is for you. Crop sensor cameras are good, but FF is better.

What a shame! There are so many photos that could be really good if they had just been taken with a camera. Phone photos are ok if you never look at them on anything but your phone or pad. The other problem is that many people don't bother to download them to their computer and when they break their phone, the pictures are gone. I guess it's better than nothing, but not much.

I think that after reserching all of these lenses The Tokina 16-28 represents the best of the bunch. Many reviewers ranking it with Canon and Nikon lenses that cost nearly 3 times what the Tokina does. B&H has a deal on the lens as well $549.00, which is lower than anywhere else. Thank you all for your help, you are a great bunch of photogs.

Thats no surprise, as I had a Tokina wide for MY Canon 50D and it was extremely sharp. Thanks for the tip.

I am using a Canon 6D full frame and would like to round out my lens collection. I have a Canon 100 - 400 mm L glass lens and the 24 - 105 L glass lens, but would like a Super wide to be able to cover most any situation. What would you suggest?
