Nice job, I drive by there 2-3 times per year and always remember what the site stands for. A number of my friends has parents that were take n there during WW2 and I always remember to keep in mind the significance of the place.

Have you ever sent this to Canon Professional Services to get it cleaned?

Thanks

Take the doors off helicopter ride on Kauai. It is worth it. You can google it to find the companies. I think there are two. On the helicopter the 24/70 will work. I used a 24/105. Go on a Napali Coast ride and take a wide angle.

I took a bus, great trip. One thing no one seemed to mention is there is a pretty good chance you will experience rain so prepare for it.

I have a Storm Jacket. It has worked well for me and I have had it in some pretty wet places due to where I was shooting at the time.

I have used Storm Jackets, very good protection. While they cost a little, many people buy expensive filters, so I view it at the same type of purchase for my equipment.

Some hints, Juneau has the most rain it seems.
Try to find out when the Salmon run, many animals come out do to the salmon.

I took lens I could use a cover with. Canon 70-200 and 24-105 with a 1.4 teleconverter Worked great

My comment before about Photoshop Elements on Amazon for under $60 still stands but here is a few other things you should consider. Adobe is the industry 600LB gorilla and seems to offer what most people want and need. But then again, you may not be most people.

You have been given some suggestions for some free photo editing programs, you should download them and try them out, see if they are simple and you are satisfied with what they do. Try some of them before you buy anything.

You are using a 2014 MacBook Pro, how much memory?, what version operating system? You should see how how the program works on your computer and how long it takes to do a picture. Some are fast, some are really slow.

Look for some 30 day free trials on the paying software. That gives you a chance to work with some pics that way.

You have over 6 pages of suggestions, you could overthink this to much. There is no perfect editing program especially for under $75. If there was, Photoshop would be out of business, and they aren't.

Good luck to you.

Photoshop Elements 15, currently on sale for $59.99

I use this and it works great. You can usually keep a program like this and the software will last your for 2-3 years. At $60 it is a great deal and handles Raw also.

Actually just came back from a two week trip in Kona and Kauai. Took a couple of Canon cameras, 7D, G-15, and an underwater outfit. Took 3 cards in CF - 32-16-16, and three in SD 64-32-32. But also had something happen that has not happened to me in my years with digital. My CF card reader quit working mid trip. Had to save everything on the compact flash till I got home. Might consider a quick Amazon backup reader. Hint for you. A good little snorkeling company based out of Poipou does trips with all equipment. Turtles, octopus, and plenty of fish to be seen. Also don forget the Napali Coast in the afternoon.

I am at Big Bear every year. What part of the lake did you take that from?
