Canon USA is again selling the canon SX 50HS for $249 + tx. A bit more than some of you paid in the past but they are 'refurbished' and currently available until June 29th, 2016.

Looks like they're out of stock.

If you Google "Windows 10 when I want it", you can download and install a tool that completely removes the "Get Windows 10" app and all associated registry files that Microsoft pushes onto your computer. That annoying invitation that was popping up on my computer every time I started it has not been seen since I installed the tool about 6 months ago.

Perhaps I didn't clearly explain my issue. My printer is an HP Photosmart 6520. It has a main paper tray and a photo paper tray. When I print a photo, I must specify in preferences that the paper source is the photo tray. Everything works as expected when I use any other program besides GIMP. When I print from GIMP, the photo prints out from the plain paper tray instead of the photo paper tray, and only a portion of the photo prints, as shown in the attachment to my previous post. Anyone else have this issue? What am I doing wrong? I'm running the current version of GIMP. Computer is an HP Probook 6530s, Windows 7 64 bit. Thanks.

These are gorgeous. I especially like #4. I have been waiting for the 10-18 refurbished to go on sale on Canon's website, but now I don't think I can wait!

When I print a photo from GIMP, the photo is printed on plain paper from the main tray, and only a portion of the photo prints. I have set all preferences (paper source, print size, layout, paper type, etc). I don't have this problem printing from any other program, such as Windows Photo Viewer, my very old version of Photoshop Elements, etc. Any thoughts?

Thanks all for your input. After further testing I did find that when I focus on distant subjects the two lenses produce virtually identical image size, but with closer subjects the Tamron seems to have less magnification than the Canon at the higher focal lengths. So I feel better knowing that it's not defective, just a characteristic. Also, the Tamron is sharper, so that's plus.

Hi, I'm Rob. I just joined and am really enjoying the site. Lots of nice people here!
I just purchased a Tamron 18-270 f/3.5-6.3 DI ii PZD as an upgrade for the Canon EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS ii lens for my 70D. I purchased it used from B&H.
In the two photos I have attached, the first is the Canon zoomed out to 250, and the 2nd is the Tamron zoomed out to 270. Do I have a defective lens? Thanks for any input.

Canon at 250mm

Tamron at 270mm
