That's OK. It was my fault. I went to post and forgot to select the photo gallery section. Glad he caught it. Also glad you like the image!

Evacuating Naples, we ended up in Cashiers, NC. This is the honeymoon cabin at High Hampton Resort. Couldn't resist a late afternoon shot. The calm after the storm.

Thanks. Exactly! I do have another shot from the other side but the lighting was much better from this side. Especially converting to B&W.

When the subject is willing and photogenic is the time make several images - from the left, from the right, close ups, etc. Opportunities should not be wasted.

As I walked by him his eyes were closed. I got about 6 ft away and turned back. Within a few seconds he opened his eyes. I spoke to him and told him he was a handsome man. As soon as he smiled I knew he would be willing. Then I asked if I could photograph him. He was flattered and said "Of course". I asked him to close his eyes again. Just didn't want to pass up that look. Thanks

Terrific shot. How did you get over any trepidation, assuming you had some, about asking people to allow you to take their picture.

Thanks. We were told it rains 300 days a year there. I knew early august was the best chance for good weather. We lucked out in that both days at sea was thick fog but it always cleared on land.

Beautiful shots, you won the lottery, nice weather. We took 6 cruises up there originating from Vancouver, Seattle and SF but never had nice weather like you had.

Thanks. Yes, you'll see one of my replies above. I waited for him to open his eyes and then asked permission. Asked him to close them again. Such a nice man!

Really nice! Did you have to ask, he looks like he is asleep.

Yes, I have done that many times not only with instances like this but also street performers. This gentleman didn't want a thing. He was quite content in just letting me capture him. But a valid point when necessary.

Maybe leaving bills in his hand would be an alternative to showing him the final edit.

Thank you. Background: He was in an alley just sitting with his eyes closed. Lighting was great. I stood for about a minute until he opened his eyes. My first words were "You are one handsome man". He said, "It's the beard". I knew with his smile he'd let me take his photo. I asked him to close his eyes again. Just loved the texture of the bricks and surrounding. Very lucky to stumble across him and fortunate he cooperated.

Before heading to Alaska, I walked around Public Market in Seattle. A great spot for street photography. I couldn't resist this wonderful gentleman. He was kind enough to let me capture him. One of my favorite shots. Just wanted to share.

It's one of the bigger ones in the Celebrity line. Full capacity around 2800. Certainly not as large as Royal Caribbean Oasis capacity of 6000+. We do love the Celebrity line.

If we had a little more time we would have walked to the sandbar. It's about a 45 minute roundtrip hike. The whole experience of being by the glacier was dramatic. Actually, I used no filters. I did a little adjusting in Lightroom. Yes we were very lucky with the weather. Thanks!

Well, at least you had good weather. I would love to be on that sand bar watching the water fall. very dramatic. The water appears to be a tad chilly for swimming however.
Appears as though you used a polarizing filter on a couple of the scenes. ~FiddleMaker
