This is the first time I have published my flower pictures. I've shown them to friends but never thought they were good enough to show other photographers. Thanks for all your feedback. I truly have no confidence.

No confidence? Your shots are gorgeous, original and you have your own unique style. I enjoy viewing each one. They add pizazz to a very common subject. No more talk about a lack of confidence. You rock girl!

What a great way to start the new year with your compliments

I am considering a trip to Alaska, taking a Panasonic FZ35. Any advice on settings or what i need to consider.

Consider that the snow, ice, glaciers may cause your meter to be fooled with the result that the photos may be underexposed. If that happens use the exposure compensation on the camera.

Since we live in a visual society where one picture speaks much more than a thousand word -- Are you using you photos to promote what you feel are needed changes in our society ?

I've used the attached example to promote preserving, enlarging national parks. .

Personally, I have never used, or tried to use, photos in the way you speak of. However, many photojournalists have and I applaud them. I thinks it's a great idea and I wish I had the skill and ambition to do it. Using one's talent to promote beneficial changes in society is something to be admired and certainly many, many writers have done so and continue to do so.

Your are right "Why" I hate the white stuff. It would be different if one pplayed int the snow, not me. In the winter time just give me my blanket, fire place, and a hot toddie.

Retrying to send a picture. Thanks for your 2nd responses.

I like the photo, it's interesting and pleasing to look at. Oh, and it's much nicer than your first picture. Apologize if I was too harsh in my critique. Happy New Year! ;)
