Yes it worked on my 70D as well. Camera shop said Canon changed something in 80D so neither Tamron lens worked in it. Camera shop manager said he was going to notify Tamron of the problem.
Put Canon 70-300 on 80D and works great.
Working on finding a refurbished Canon 100mm right now!
What are the associated problems when you buy a lens "from Japan"? Has to go through customs?

Have Canon 80D. Looking for lens to do close up work on say flowers. Canon lenses only at this time. 80D rejected Tamron 16-300 and 18-270. Thank you for you help, I love this site.
