Canadian folk singer Gordon Lightfoot has died at the age of 84.

Victoria Lord, the musical artist's publicist, confirmed his death on Monday, according to Pitchfork. His career spanned more than 50 years, beginning in the 1960s, during which he wrote songs that famous artists such as Marty Robbins and Peter, Paul & Mary recorded before he launched a career of his own.

Lightfoot found his greatest success during the 1970s, achieving acclaim for singles such as "The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald," "If You Could Read My Mind," and "Sundown."

In 1986, he was inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame.

Gord used to perform every year at our Toronto famous Massey Hall. I always attended. He will be sorely missed.

Lovely pics Tom, but looks like Emorie could use a better-fitting helmet!

That is what baby bison are called because of their reddish brown coats when they are born. After a couple months their normal brown/tan coloring starts coming in, along with their distinctive back hump.

Thanks for that. I had never heard that before.

Weather has been everything but co-operative in Yellowstone the last couple of days, but I did manage to grab some red dog pics between the snowstorms! LOL

Why are you calling them "red dogs"?

Yesterday we lost Rocco(on the right). He was 9.5 years old, as is his sister(on left). She is still going strong and is going to miss him. A rotty's life only averages 8 years.

Sorry for your loss. I hope his sister does OK without him.

Just started processing some of our images from a trip to Costa Rica Deb and I took in October and November of 2022, this shot brought back some nice memories. This is a very young juvenile Mantled Howler Monkey. The mother and this young one came to a tree one morning outside of the house we were staying near Bijagua, CR. The tree was huge-very tall, but it was also down a steep hill that sloped away from our front terrace. That put this large branch almost at eye level for us. The mother was down below looking for some Cecropia fruit and left the baby on this large branch. The baby never took his (?) eyes off her and she soon returned and shared her fruit with him. Unfortunately I had a large lens on my camera (I was trying to photograph small birds in the same tree) so I was unable to capture the entire scene. I was happy with backlit hair lighting up.
Shot with a Canon R5, 600 mm f/4.0 lens, ISO 10,000, SS 1/500, f/4.0, EC +0.3. Shadows on monkey brought up considerably and BG darkened. Cropped from R and bottom to remove distracting elements.

A cutie. Hope they are prepared for her eventual size and appetite.

Yes, they can tell by the size of her feet already! The Dog de Bordeaux (French Mastiff) they had before was big but the females are quite a bit smaller than the males.

My son and family have finally chosen a new puppy after losing their beloved Dogue de Bordeaux last year. This one is a rescue, 3 months old and a cross between two mastiff breeds. She settled in to her forever home very easily and has the sweetest temperament imaginable. I'm sure she'll be as wonderful as the one they lost. She's not as sad as she looks in this photo!

Been hesitant to upgrade to windows 11 (from windows 10) for fear would cause problems with LIghtroom Classic and Photoshop. Anyone had problems with the conversion?

I upgraded to 11 and it didn't cause any problems with Lightroom/Photoshop. It does have a few changes from 10 which irritate me a lot. I don't know why they can't leave things alone if they are working well. You shouldn't have any problems generally though.
