Blown Out Images Were Very In About Late 80s Early 90s Black And White Was The Choice. We Did Many. The Also Would Show up On Magazine Covers Such As Ocean Drive In Fla. The Trend Got started In The Portrait Area When Trish And John Perrin's Work Appeared On The Cover Of The PP Of A,And Rangefinder Magazine. They Would Also Color In The Eyes And Other Elements. Perrins Studio Was Called ON BROADWAY STUDIO. In Portland Or. The Went Around The Country Teaching How to Do It.
This Was The Film Era. You Had to Over Expose And Then Under Develop . Special Make Up And A Low Reflector Under The Subject.

Yes Film When It Cost $250 just in film Cost.Another$250 to get It Processed And 1 Each 5 By 5 Proofs. The * By 10 Albums Cost $500.00 Unassembled. Then About Another $250 to get The Eight By Tens Or Other Size Groups Printed. A $3000.00 Wedding At That Time Cost $1500.00 In Overhead. And Oh Yes Then The Time To Assemble It all. Do We Really Miss It?

That's Right And It's The Best And Safest Way To Do It. However Not Everyone Can Afford It!Too Many Of My Competetors Tuffed it Out With Only One Lens And Caught Up to me.Why, They Had Good Sales Skills!
They Had No fear And Are Still In Business Today With Tripple Of Every thing. One now Has A Two Million Dollar Studio!
Don't Let ANYTHING HOLD YOU BACK In Life!

I Never just Take One But If I Had to The 24 to 105 Would Be my Choice. I Know Photographers In The Early Days Shot A Wedding with Just A normal 80 Until The could Afford Another Lens Or Back.
It Was A Big Risk, I Would Have Never Done It .But Business Is A Series Of Risks And They Are Successful Today. You Have To Start Some where And They Did! Today We Always Bring 3 Cameras And Many Lenes To A Wedding But We Didn't Start Out That Way 40 Years Ago!

Ok, I'm Going To Put Myself Out There, I'm Retirement Age And It's Ok That I Give Out Info. No One Wanted To Help Me Out When I Started Out So I Understand.
I Come from The Hasselblad Era. It Was Tough For Me to Transpose To Digital But I Did With Both Feet.
I Use A 7d For Weddings With The L Series 24 To 105 Zoom.
Good Work Horse. I Also Have A 70 to 300 And A Fish Eye. And An 85 Pluss A Super Wide 10mm Plus zoom Because Some houses And Hotel Rooms Lack Space. Bride Dressing Rooms Are Small. The Lens That I Use The Most Is The 24 T0 105 L Series EW38H
In 40 Years It Is the Best That I Have Ever Used. We Just Blew Up LIFE SIZE IMAGES Using The 7D,And That L Series Lens. Customer Is Very Happy!!! Returning For More Images This Monday.

These Were Made life Size With The 7D

We Have Never Ran Into A Problem With Releases In Over 40 Years. If Your Going To Sell Or Display It As A Sample Of your work Yes. To be Sure All Of our Contracts Weddings Or Other Wise Say That Upon Signing The Contract You Then Release to Us The right to Display Or sell These Images. In A Wedding You Always Have Third Party Sales. Brides Maids Family Members Etc. The PP Of A Has Info On This. Give Them A Call In Atlanta Of go On Their Web Site .We Always Respect People. Even If we Have A Release. We Had A Bride Call Once About Us Displaying Images Of Her And Her FIRST Husband. She Was Now On Her 3rd. Of Course We Took Them Out Even Though We Had A Realese. It's Just good business

Ummm Contest, It Is All A Matter Of The Taste Of Those Who Are Judging. Don't Beat Your Self Up Over Weather You Win Or loose.
Just Consider That's It's Fun To Play The Game.
We Win ALL The time VIA Our Customers. Why They Are Willing To PAY For It. The PP Of A Will Judge One Way, And Another Org Will Judge Another. The Customers? Well If You Go To Your Local Art Festivals There Will Be Stuff You Will Say WHAT THE!?? But Some One Will Shell Out Big Bucks For It. AND IT WILL WIN AWARDS. And You Will Still Say... WHAT The???
So Really Even Many Parts Of Contests Are Politics. This Photo Won The Publishers Choice Award Through A Swimsuits Magazine. I Had Over 120 Images Of Models In It, Someone Ask For A Pet Photo From The Photographers,And This One Won. Go Figure!
