I guess i was lucky that the moon had been visable before dark and i knew it was going to be visable for quite long periods between cloud formations,i imagine it cant be unlike that in the US when the conditions are right ? you just got to be ready to act when they are.
as for me, i think the RAW and tripod are my next moves when the weather is agreeable again, as the rain is returning.

Thanks, it really is good when compared to the tiny sized shot ,one would have got only a few years back the 60 times is so blur free thanks to the software now built in,i really must use the tripod and use RAW to see how much better i can really get it.

At the other end of the scale ,macro flower with Fujifilm HS30 EXR, not regretting buying this camera.

softy is right on ! he loves nothing more than for mum to get into bed in an evening and to claim his rightful place lay on her tummy,and woe betide any other cat who tries to take his place.away from that spot he loves all his fellow cats at home especially his half brother whom he loves to bits,having lost his older half brother at just 9 months old ( a Red point Siamese boy ) .

Ollie was out in the compound, ( we leave our bungalows bedroom window open and it leads straight out into the compound where all the cats ( RSPCA cats as well as the Siamese ) spend a lot of their days sitting watching the birds,( which is what Ollie was doing at the moment i took that photo, ) the birds were in the hedge and he was most interested in the fact they were In the hedge, NOT on top of it as they normally are ! hence the look on his face and that GLINT in his siamese eye ! ha ha.

can i just ask,how much zoom did you use to get that ? i ask, as i used 60X and couldnt frame all the moon, only 33% of the frame,i am assuming you didnt crop to make it look like that ? as it seems too good a quality for a crop !

To me personally, i like the last but one best,as the framing of it leads your eye across it,some of the others appear more centally framed than i would have done them,that is just me.
