I captured this image last winter in Canada. There were a few of us ladies from the UGG. We were all shooting a beautiful reflection when Katherine noticed some other beautiful light behind us. I scrambled over to the opposite direction and managed to find a good foreground right before the show ended. It is difficult to judge where the light will be best in the Canadian Rockies. You have to be ready to change your position at any moment. It was great fun though.

Beautiful shot must look at in d/l.

if your camera has video you can use that to make a note of where and what you are shooting.

Cuyamaca State Park is home to plenty of deer and other animals. Along with the deer there are Mountain Lions here in the park. there are signs posted t/o the park. As far as I know only one person has been attack and killed in the park and that was 10 or 15 years ago a lone hiker. This is a great park to vist if you are in the San Diego area.

on sat on an o/c day in san diego I decided to take a little ride up to Cuyamaca State Park about 50 miles from my house to see what I could find to shoot.I haven't been up there in quite awhile. Temp. by my house was about 65 degrees so was wearing shorts.Temp at Cuyamaca park was 48 degrees needless to say I was cold and the wind was blowing about 30 mph. Here are a few pictures from the day I hope you enjoy them. The park is open year round and there are cabins and campgrounds that you can rent and motel rooms also. You can get the information at facebook.com/LagunaMountainLodge or call 619 473 8533 or 619 473 8630. Julian a old mining town is about 25 miles away and also has places to stay and great places to eat if you like down home country food. plenty to do here hiking;H/B riding;camping etc.

I still have a matched system Sansui receiver and turn table with 4 floor speakers that I bought in 1970 in japan also hooked up to the rec.is a akai real to real . Ad about 150 real to real tapes and 100 albums & 45s an Im a happy man. What I always did when I bought a record was play it one time and record it to tape and put the record away. Some of the records I have have only been played one time.Im a child of the 60s and still love my oldies. Anyone who likes the music from that time can still find it at Oldies.com

It was a overcast day in San Diego yesterday but I went out anyway. Was going to shoot in Balboa park but when I got there it was crowded with H/S grads who were celabrateing.so I didn't stick around too long. Instead I took a ride D/T along the waterfront this is what I came up with.

this is the view from Harbor Island looking towards d/t s.d.

n any given day you can sit here and watch the world go bye.

San Diego is home port to 3 aircraft carriers ;there is usually at least 1 in port at all times being worked on. I spent 3 years working on these floating cites and 2 years stationed onboard them .

My first official photo post!

one of the things I would do is trun off the date and time stamp.I think it distracts from the picture.then take it out and shoot using all the diff. setting until you are happy with the results. I hope you have fun with the new camera.

And you're only a couple hours away from grand canyon

that's a couple of hours away from the North rim not the south rim. also about the same to the hoover dam ;page az where Horseshoe Bend is and Lake powell is also there. If you go to the hoover dam make sure you do the tour inside the dam. Mob museum in Las Vegas is interesting allow about 4 hours for it if you go there.

I recommend a helicopter tour - better vantage points and no need to fight crowds. The attached image is from 2005 using a 2mp Casio - imagine how much better you can do today.

better yet is a whitewater rafting trip down the river if you have the time and the money.you can book these trips out of las vegas.
