I'm cheap so would take the unit apart, rinse it out with warm soapy water and then mix up some water with baking soda and pour that on. Look for any bubbles and use a soft brush on those spots. Rinse it out very well and air dry. Use a pencil eraser on the battery contacts and check for eroded through connections.
Sounds like a joke but I used this on a $600 2-way radio that had received a cup of coffee with sugar and milk. Once dry the unit worked fine for years after.

I like them both. Interesting use of color and the techniques around the edges make them look different.

My goto lens is the 18-140. Since with the crop sensor cameras that's equivalent to 27mm - 210mm, it's a very usable range. Yes. good point on the AF-S lens. You need that "-S" part to have autofocus with that camera. You'll probably turn AF off for the knitting close-up shots but it only takes a second so no big deal.

he answer to "HOW does the camera do it?" is that the camera control is an internal computer with a hardwired computer program. Every photo is generated by the software in the cameras computer. Since the software is proprietary the manufacturer won't tell you exactly HOW.

We know that all information is digital in that each color is assigned a numerical value, each pixel is assigned the value of the color it's seeing. The camera to reduce file size takes groups of pixels and averages the numbers to get the new pixel value. Since it's all handled in a sequential data stream the algorithm is not that hard.

Two key things you said make this a no-brainer! Health insurance benefit and large multinational company say go for it and don't look back. JUst health insurance is worth 4 to 6 hundred a month. That's 4 bucks an hour before taxes so you're up to 15$/hr right there. The opportunities of a large company add to that so No Question, go for it.
Having spent 33 years with a large company I know the opportunities can be there if you're flexible and work hard to earn a good reputation.

That's a telephone drop wire and has very thick insulation. Ring tone can't get through that.
Picture brings back an old scary memory for me. I was running a drop like that on Long Island many tears ago in a rainstorm and did NOT have someone to hold the wire up for me. As I climbed the pole a Karman Gia came flying up the road so fast the water wave raised up the wire and wrapped it around the front of the car. I had just dipped my head to the right because rain was blowing in my collar so my hard hat was touching my right shoulder. The wire snapped up, hit my shoulder and the rim of the hat caught it and carried it up and over my head. I came down off the pole and the car was stopped by the wire about 50 feet up the road. If I had not dipped my head to the right the wire would have taken my head off. Scary!!
