This photo was taken about a year ago for the championships for the youth to crown the best young surfers in the world under 18 years old. The contest was held at Lower Trestles in San Clemente. Please download this one.

Great action shot, not an average shot, a really outstanding shot!

This photo was drab and was getting ready to delete it, but at the last moment decided I would work it with different effects. This is what I came up with.

The "effect" you added gives this image the feel of a painting. Very nice "save", to an otherwise drab photograph. Special effects can sometimes change the feel of a compostion dramatically. Nice work.

I have researched prior comments on UHH but would appreciate current comments comparing these two cameras, and perhaps recommending other cameras.

I am considering selling my Canon 70D and purchasing one of these "bridge cameras." My photos consist of grandchildren, family events, vacations and some landscapes. It appeals to me to have a self-contained camera and not fool with so many lens -- as long as the photos have good resolution, IQ or whatever you call it.

Any thoughts?

Sony RX 100iii..........check out the specs, I did an exhaustive search over a few days for my niece , she needed a really good camera and needed one that was also compact, and while this has the size of a point and shoot it's sensor is larger than you will find in any true bridge camera. The only thing that may not appeal to you is that it lacks the super zoom capabilities of the bridge cameras. It's image capture however is phenomenal for such a small camera.

Back in November I had an idiotic sighting, the guy in front of me waiting on the line to vote told me he was voting Democrat.

Oh yeah? I bored out a Chevy small block and added nitrous oxide injection, in fact I added nitrous oxide to my Canon and plan on adding a quad 75 mp sensor with a bored out adaptable Leica Summicron f.95! Lol

The 50MP Canon is a full frame, not an APS-C. No doubt though, someone will come out with a 50MP APS-C at some point.
Jeez! In the '60's I got excited over cubic inches and horsepower. Now it's sensor size and megapixels! Could my wife be right? Am I getting old? :-D
Ahhhh, ok, 50.6 on a full frame makes more sense. Guess Nikon is gearing up w/ a 60.7 then!
Yeah my 283 was all the engine I needed but of course I had to get the 350 with a 4 barrel ! Lol

Don't understand your question, what I wrote is what I think, lol.

Canon has just announced a 50MP full frame. Like everything else in electronics, the numbers will keep going up as technology improves. More megapixels are not always desirable though. Usually, larger megapixels give better color depth and low light performance, although even that can be offset by the camera's processor or processors.
Yes you bring up the other variable and that is the actual pixel size. Will be interesting to see how the new Canon will actually perform, because 50.6 million pixels on a Canon APS-C is really quite a limited area for so many pixels. The processor has been updated too however so we shall see !

Oooooopppps, I see that the question was already addressed.

Use the lowest ISO setting and stop way down- f22 or more depending on the lens. If that doesnt do it you will need as others have mentioned an ND filter. Ive gotten away without one but only on fairly dark overcast day. Bob

If manufacturers can produce a 24mp sensor (Nikon d3200 example) in an APS-C size how many would a Full Frame or Medium Format sensor hold?

There must be finite limitations to how many pixels you can pack into given sensor areas, a search in Google may reveal that answer or a book on digital electronics. But I do know this; Pixel packing does not always result in better images because a high pixel count on a small sensor has inferior image capture capability then a lower pixel count on a larger sensor.

Both are great products. I am a Canon fan for two reasons. Canon is the only manufacturer who actually manufacturers their whole lens process in-house. The second reason, look at any pro sporting event and almost all photographers use Canon gray pro lenses

Both great camera systems. And forever they will compete against each other. I went with Canon, easier camera to use, superior optics in many areas. Still shoot film, but the Canon gives me more reds like my Kodachrome, whereas Nikon has a " Fuji look" to it, a greenish cast.

My Canon uses LPE-8 batteries, 1750 m, and bought generics but indicates 1500 m, the difference? Thank you in adavance.
