Just your reference to being short fused in reference to the questions this morning. Assuming I am one of those who lit your fuse

I think I mentioned earlier, if not, I am sorry. I am not a professional photographer but rather an amateur and a hobbyist who likes to take quality pics. In addition I do travel frequently (am retired) and like to create memories for my wife and I. I do belong to a couple of camera clubs in the area but they meet infrequently.
Hopefully this gives you a little of my background.

This quote is from a local camera shop with a good reputation. Costco has a similar deal for almost the same price but I am hesitant about the quality from the big box stores. Also who do you turn to for questions

I previously had a Nikon 6006 film camera with a 28-300 sigma lens. Currently I am looking a digital nikon 7100 with 2 lenses--- an 18-55 vr and a 55-300vr. In addition to this the store will include a camera bag and a 32 g sd card. All this for 1499. I don't know if this is the way to go or not and would appreciate your input as I am not a pro but like good equipment.
I was also told my old Sigma lens may be adaptable to this camera
