Humm, the ghost of L.B.Johnson is holding up those ears. The famous LBJ photo is here:

Your photo of this cuddle beast stimulates me to scratch it head. Yes, Nuf political stuff, but great that we were able to vent. Hopefully, I do hope we who vented do not all end-up on a watch list kept active by the ghost of Nixon.

I have had one card cause problems. I polished the contacts with the very finest of finger nail boards. I am talking about the ones used to put a fine shine on the top of the nails. Alternative go to automotive and buy Crocus cloth normally used for automotive contacts.

But, I think the failure you are talking about is internal and you are lucky, as we are, to now know about the program. Thank you.

Geo, you are wrong, it is not the war and rebuilding of others and sucking dry the treasury of USA by the rightwing, rather the echon is decimated by the selfish teachers who get 3% put into pension by the Fl state. Well that has been taken care of, no more 3%, and fewer teachers. Oh yes, the unions, they gotta go. etc.

MICHIGAN: is indeed beautiful. The quick seasons and the desperation of plants to reproduce gave great gardens when I was a child there in Grand Blanc.

A fantastic vacation one summer. Two couples, we were young and fearless, drove an ol 55 Chev to the Soo, crossed over to Canada, Mc Gregor, populated by Indians named Mc Gregor, rented 12 foot john boat, headed off as sun was setting, 5 miles of ice water later we found ol'baldie a small rock island small rustic one room cabin, stayed for a week in cabin with finger with between now dry wood, saw Lake Superior bottom 40 feet below - so clear, saw echo satellite bright in sky, saw northern lights dance in every direction we looked, slept out sides in our bags on rock, back to Mc Gregor, drove to roadway over sparse vegetated rock land, ripped hole in muffler and drove all night 500 miles back to "civilization", I just played the video of my mind - Such a vacation, we should all have good memories.

True this is a photo, photo technique, photo equipment forum; however we are a family of photographers and a salient subject such as this, thankfully, only comes along with rarity. We as a family of photographers think differently since we are visual people and see what others do not notice.

A similar thing could be said of poets, painters, and local cook.

S-Man I agree people may have misread or misunderstood your posting. ,,, I believe you and to quote you "AT NO TIME DID I SAY OR EVEN IMPLY ANYONE WHO DIDNT POST WAS UNPATRIOTIC OR UNAMERICAN."

It is an emotional subject and people are reactive. I shake your hand with words. You expressed feelings, and at such an anniversary, need words.

Also, while this is a photo forum,,, 9-11 is an exceptional turning point in our history as was 12-7-41. d/p

I saw the moon this AM, it was low and indeed "yellow tint."

Happy for you that you dipped your tow into the edit world. You photo looks great. That is an ambitious list of things to achieve in the future. Just shoot shoot shoot and discard the junk. One photo out of 20- or more may be good, rest store in the Delete Key. Above all, enjoy and get a "Go-Shootin" buddy. d/p

Campaigns of 1812-13. U.S. forces were not ready for war, and American hopes of conquering Canada collapsed in the campaigns of 1812 and 1813.

Agreed, this is not a political forum, but in a sense photography makes very strong political statements vs words that are manipulated and used to achieve, too often selfish or even evil goals.

The old adage, "one picture is worth a thousand words," is an understatement. You look at a person and ask "want to see your photo," "photo of me?" they ask, "yes," and then they are shown the famous falling man photo. You instruct them "Now, shut your eyes please and feel that desperation and how short your life is and understand there is no guarantee. This could be you."

To all, this is AMERICA, we all have freedom of expression and the right and obligation to dialogue and clarify. The reason I presented "what if's is because we should reflect and think so that in the future we, as united people, do not become Sheeple and follow false words or defective thinking. What I expressed was my feeling at the onset of the 9-11 retribution. I was in Australia at the time consulting. I could not believe my eyes, and yet today I can replay that video in my minds eye. For a while every plane I saw mentally burst into flames. Heavy on the soul!

For ages, countries have go into mid-east and been defeated simply by lost too many people and lost treasurer. Vietnam was one that was an example of historic losses by western powers. The Russians were defeated in Afghanistan (with our help) as were the English (did our leaders see Laurence of Arabia or read the Seven Pillars of Wisdom, I think not.) I will not go on.

Before we walk into a busy highway, we need to look both ways, huh. Same in world affairs ... be vigilant ... plan carefully. We must be creative in our ways, not try that which historically has repeatedly not worked.

We must elect based on contemplated facts, not jingoism and chants and misstatements and lies. International involvement, especially WAR is not a foot ball game. We do not go in to "win like a game," people die, people maimed. We must only go in for good reasons it is not a game, if it is, then it is a deadly one.

Lastly, I applaud ALL who have expressed them selves here, it is the American Way, By Right of Petition, and in a sense this political/9-11 Photo Specialized Forum is exercising the classic American way I grew up with civil disagreement and expression, That my fellow Americans and Immigrants, is The American Way. Long Live Our Union -- Together We Stand, Divided, We Fall.

Alas all, war must have a specific target - goals and not a lash out response. If the extreme groups in upper Michigan did a deed foul would we bomb Michigan. How about the Marrah Building, April 19, 1995. No we would seek out the individual "evil doers."

Law enforcement vigilance, as FBI, CIA, Interpol, small strike forces and Local observant people, etc have been the ones to stop additional terror incidents. They have done well. Terror is old, local, national, and international.

The terrorist goal was to destroy the USA and the $$ spent in these wars and the lives and limbs of our young are destroying or at least further wounding the USA and playing into the chess moves planed for our fate. Consider: What if we had spent those dollars and lives on education and research on alternate energy. That war of new knowledge and energy independence would have been a winnable war and a positive war for mankind. No, instead we create a generation of potential enemies and have brought our economy to its knees!! Lost many of our young, and our nation has done things we condemned the Japanese for in WW2. Moral compass directs. We must again be a moral example for the world.

Yes, Indeed it is a sad event 9-11 and I morn those young people, dead or wounded, some surly, who I taught in HS or passed in the street. The USA is a great country and we must not loose our being of freedom and prosperity, and oh, yes, a bastion of human rights and being humane. One or more of the young of whom I spoke may be in notnoBuddha's photo. We are the United States of America and to me we have our traditional standards to restore and stand fast on. We can rebuild lost buildings easily, and shed tears and give respectful memory for those 3000 lost, but we can not rebuild our inner fiber if we allow that to be diminished or destroyed. "God Bless America, Land that I Love, ...." Remember that song? d/p
