‘68 - came home from WestPac in April.
12 - the only thing I retained from Little League days was a leftover hernia the surgeon discovered while fixing two others.
Kermit was wrong - being green is a walk in the park - it’s getting old that ain’t easy! 75 yesterday, spent the day with my wife in ICU. Happy Birthday to me.

Be well. Hope it’s warmer in your neighborhood than it was in mine this morning - 12 friggin’ degrees minus the wind chill! Did I mention that I hate winter too? 🥶

lol...what are you going on about...

Who cares about the 'fashion' statement of how proportional the lens is to the body?
Hey, make sure your shirt matches the camera strap too...lol.
And comb your hair for Pete's sake...poor Pete.

Typical response from you.
It’s HIS gear, not yours. If he gets a little enjoyment from the way it looks, no sweat off your ass. If it bothers you, it just became YOUR problem, not his.
Have a wonderful day - I know I will.

Before the vultures move in - yes, I saw quixdraw’s and goofy’s responses before I posted mine. I just thought bebu and spirit might like to clarify that they were asking reasonable questions, not taking shots at each other.

A GN was a Nikon lens specifically designed for use with flash, hence the Guide Number designation, though it could be used for general photography. if you look closely at the photo, you can see an adapter under the lens against the Canon body. Edit: The "guitar pick" engaged with a variety of top mounted Nikon meter prism replacements.
A GN was a Nikon lens specifically designed for us... (show quote)

And all of that looks smaller than some of the new adapters alone!

So if you use the small primes that I have your cameras are too big and look very ugly.

I think you were asking a question, not issuing a challenge. If you were, a ? would have made that clear.

I also think “spirit” was asking you a question. IS the DF bigger? I don’t know either.

Nope, not my M.O. If you think you ever see any, don’t hesitate to point it out. On the other hand, if you really want to see some salt, let me know that, also. I didn’t spend four years in the Navy for nothing. 🤬🤬🤬

A GN, without a flash in sight! And on a Canon!

Your either (both?) older than I am, or caught the bug earlier, but I am not familiar with the gear of which you speak. I had to go back and look at the picture to be sure that’s what you were referring to.
Anyway, is that a Nikon lens on a Canon camera? Was that a thing? And, what is the guitar pick sticking out between the lens and the mount?
Not being an ass, just ignorant.

Be careful sport, you’re starting to sound like your idol, Old WI, or whatever his alias is. The last thing this forum needs is another jerk.

This is the first time I’ve ever critiqued any photo not my own. So, anyone who cares to, critique my critique.
I think my first move would be to get rid of all the stray buds - they don’t add anything appealing to the scene. Maybe even a distraction. At least, then you have just the two, much more interesting players to work on, as well as more of that background to work with.

Good idea Bud - stick with what you've got because it works. And don't pay attention to those who suggest the Tamron 18-400 is just a so-so lens. That's nonsense. I have one and it takes great shots.

(NOT TRUE. Read the rest of your own response just below.)

Remember that it's the person behind the lens that takes the better shots, not the camera-lens combo.

Their mirrorless lineup is sweet and extremely capable.

But that’s not the point, or his goal. He’s not in a damn the cost, full speed ahead quest for the best. Not everyone can afford to join that race, unfortunately. 😟

No baseball field. The nearest airport is Van Nuys airport, roughly twelve miles to the east and this area is not in the usual flight path to or from this airport. This was a small fire in a canyon community. The helicopter would be flying at about 500 ft. above ground level. Doubtful anyone could toss a baseball bat that high :)

Well, then I’ll add my name to the consensus - you’ve got yourself a ufo 😃
