I like your composition and can find nothing to fault on the processing - - Good Job !

Thanks, Granbob. When I first got Photoshop several years ago I ruined a lot of images and didn't have the foresight to not overwrite the originals. I've learned to restrain myself, somewhat.

Personally, I think it’s difficult to take a bad photo at the GC.

Thanks, Jay. It's a marvelous place to visit and photograph but I did have some that weren't very good.

Nice shots, bet you enjoyed the trip, my wife doesn't get it, I get almost as much enjoyment at looking at photos of our trips as the trips themselves.

Yes, I love to look back at the pictures. We took our granddaughter who had just graduated with us. We've got one grandchild that will remember us regardless if the others do.

I spent some time browsing my Pictures folder and came across some Grand Canyon pics made last year. It was good to refresh my memory (it needs that a lot now-a-days.) Here are some from that group. I expect someone will say the composition wasn't good and someone will say they were over processed. That's OK. They're my memories and they serve the purpose.

In #1 I think the tree limbs framing it are OK but something keeps pulling my eyes to the foreground and away from the mountain and lake. I would crop the bottom edge and leave just a thin enough strip of land to define the lake. Maybe then my eyes would stay more on the opposite side of the lake and the mountain.

I always enjoy my visits to The Old Mill, thought I'd share a few. These were all taken with the D850 and Sigma 24-70 f/2.8 Art lens. Have A Blessed Day !!!

These are really nice pictures. I didn't know The Old Mill had Iris' planted there. I'll have to make a visit. Nice to see an Arkansan on UHH. Keep the pictures coming.

Next step is simply to get out and shoot A LOT... Go experiment and learn "hands on"... Make mistakes, learn from them, and celebrate your successes.

btw, you can ignore a lot of the bells and whistles on the camera (I had a T3i for four years) and do just fine 'til you're more experienced with exposure (ISO, shutter speed, aperture).

Absolutely gorgeous set of pictures. I was there in 2012. It's a beautiful and captivating place.

Otherwise don’t expect too much of the photos of the canyon itself. Turn your focus to smaller sections like the cliff edge trees and rocks.
