"Mullet Man", Mr. Tim Lawrence was instructing a large class of brown pelicans at the Ocean Springs Inner Harbor on the proper way to fillet fish and they were very attentive and listened to his every word!

Many areas have ordinance against feeding a filleted fish to the pelicans. Without the skin and surrounding flesh the protruding bones can puncture internal organs causing death.
Even if no law against it, it is not a good idea for that reason.
Just heard the first dove of season. Come on spring.

A Semi Truck missed the curve in the road this morning. He fell asleep at the wheel and was taken to hospital with a head injury. He was carrying about 48,000 lbs of Restaurant quality Angus Beef Brisket. The insurance agent was at the scene and said they could not keep the meat and would have to be destroyed or given away. So my husband loaded up about 300 lbs in the freezer most which will be given away, and the local farmers have come to get some. The tow truck driver just told us that there is still about 200 lbs they have put on pallets over the fence in our pasture. It is snowing heavily now so it should still be find by morning. Will probably take the rest down to the homeless shelter. WOW still cannot believe it.

3/16" shot at 4:1

Notice the posture in the first shots? Same as the Hacklemesh spider. They are not related, tho.

FYI. Just got a reprint of Common Spiders of the US by James Emerton.
A reprint of a 1902 book. Dover Edition.
I recommend, even if old, the line drawings are very good. May be some name changes, since 02, but can trace easily. On eBay for a few dollars.

That looks to be 'detail' of a Stone Centepede.

might be a Hacklemesh Weaver, the way it holds its legs are not like any wolf spider i have seen, also it plays dead if you touch it

By a long route I got this far. Amaurobiidae. Callobius sp. These are cribillate(have a cribellum) spiders. The legs hide outermost eyes so used the other six, they 'fit'. The common name is Hacklemesh Weaver. Probably a cousin of Charlie.

Sorry Gaylord, I cannot answer your question. The eyes and mind plays games with some of us. I can never figure out that when there is a low horizon full moon at one point while driving, then to make a turn, the moon will have a different smaller perspective. Maybe your question is in relation to that scenario?
Dave

The wings angle rearward. The shot has the plane taking off away and to the left. Sketch it and it becomes clearer.
Perspective. The right wing is at a more near 90 degree angle from the photographer.

should add, in double download the first pic you can see my lens, fingers along with the twin flash of course, reflected in it's eyes

Have noticed this in Salticids. The eyes are different than most spiders. I believe there is a movable lens UNDER a clear lens in some eyes. More mirrored reflection. That is why they appear to be looking at you. They are.

I like the net! Last summer I did try several times to catch dragonflies, in the hopes of then posing them for pictures. Too many escaped capture by an inch. So for Christmas I bought the largest net you can get from BioQuip. A real monster. They won't get away this time.
