Not cold until single digits

True but when that wind is blowing...that's what makes me cold...I can handle the temps being below 0 but I hibernate when the wind gets a blowing!

Glad everyone enjoyed this series of these boys! We always made the deer meat into pepper sticks, thuringer and such so the bigger the deer the better but we haven't harvested a deer in many years.....we go for the elk instead. Would rather have the hamburger and steaks from an elk than anything from a deer...just tastes so much better and you get so much more meat!

We have harvested a few whitetails larger than this guy and the horns are hanging on my wall!

Walked around the woods by our house to see what bucks we could find ....wowza...we found a really nice whitetail buck that made it ...he was with a doe and wouldn't leave her so I was able to get some really good shots of him. We saw a few other smaller bucks as well.

I hope I'm not intruding if I ask a question instead of providing information (I don't know NM well enough do that). If so I apologize. I'm also planning an RV trip to NM. I don't believe anyone has mentioned the Valles Caldera National Monument - if they have I missed it. How is that area(including Jemez Springs, etc.) for a few days RV camping? I don't know if there is camping in the Monument but there are campgrounds around it on the map. The Caldera is often seen on the TV series Longmire and it's beautiful on TV. Thanks much for any info on the area.
I hope I'm not intruding if I ask a question inste... (show quote)

Not intruding at all, hopefully someone has some info on that area as well.

Been there many many many times and yes it is beautiful but probably won't be stopping again on this trip, would rather see new things.

Cindy, enjoy the adventure..! There's an abundance of lovely scenery along the way and the cave has a perfect temperature year-round. We have a 45-ft Allegro Bus that gets eight miles to the gallon with a 150-gallon diesel tank so I can relate to the cost of filling up.

This trip is going to depend on gas prices...but if I can gather some interesting things do to and see....I might be able to talk him into going anyway!
