Sounds like a great idea to me, Dennis. I'll put it into use. (Maybe I'm weird also?)

Thanks to UHH for all the helpful advice. Its really pretty easy to sort out the rest. And, there's not that much that is worthless. And, that is really easy to sort out.
Thanks again!
Bill
Just go to the bottom of the discussion/digest and there's a topic listed below the "Main Photography Discussion" named "All Sections." Click on that and it will take you to all the sections. When I did it the second group was one that included "Challenges."
The June 22 Challenge listed was related to Eyes.
Great topic!
They do like liquids especially in dry times, as you have all over the west nowadays.
Might be a "California Tortoiseshell?" About 2" long?
Thanks for asking the question-I had been wondering about sources.
Thanks for all the suggestions!
Bill B.
Good idea Tom, except my wife can't find her passport ;o)

I went around ape Breton Island 35 years ago and the beauty is etched in my memory. I also dropped my (then) new Nikon (F?) with a 70mm-200mm lens 25 feet down onto the rocks. It bounced a couple of times and was a bit scratched, but went on to take beautiful images all over the island. I've been trying to get my wife to go back but we've never gotten further than the Bar Harbor and Acadia areas (going there again this August with current digital equipment-"can't hardly wait").
Wonderful area.
Thanks to everyone for all the advice about quaint small towns along the way!
By the way, have great trip.
What a treat! I especially like the iridescence, and that particularly in the final shot.
Thanks, DJD.
WOW!
One is certainly able to see why they're named...
He thinks you're a (big) fish?
Nice series-great birds!
Great shot. Reminds me of AA.
B and W?
Just a stray thought.
Looks like a good decision to me.
Have a great trip and watch out for hippos.
I agree with the notion of at least 2 cameras. I'm using a D750 with Nikkor 70-200 and an D3 with "older" lens ranging from 28mm to a 135mm with a 55-200mm zoom mounted.
Plus I have a Coolpix P900 for "casual," quick shooting. Like when the elephant charged in Tsavo...
I also follow the idea of different straps for ease/accuracy of choice.
Have a great trip!
