Have a chance to sell a photo. Someone would like an 8X10 and a 20X30 of the attached photo. However, when I try to have it processed part of the photo is cropped out. They do not like that. Is there any way I can have this photo printed in the sizes they want without dropping out part of the photo?

Thanks

Tell them the only way it can be done in those sizes is to have white space at the top and bottom of the photo, or that it will have to be cropped to end up with those dimensions. Tell them custom frames for any size image can be made if they don't want the white space top and bottom.

If you load all your photos into the computer when you get back "home" (be it the hotel or when you return from your trip) as most of us do, you know where you are and the approximate time of day you got the photos. I just use that info to label folders that I put the photos into. No adding or subtracting from GMT, no changing camera time. If I wanted the location time in the exif data, I could easily change the time in the camera. If your camera has a GPS feature, just use that or if not, look at GPS/Geo tag accessories for your camera.

If I were you I would buy the lens here. In the first place, warranty issues is a real possibility because the lens could be considered a gray market. If there is something wrong with the lens you will have to go through the painful process of returning the lens to Japan.

If you buy new here there is a warranty, in many cases of 5 years. If you buy used you will save lots of money and even if it is gray market you will always find someone that will do repairs if needed. Buying used from reputable stores like B&H. Adorama, Hunt, Roberts and many others will sell you a lens with a warranty and although I do not know about the others Roberts will offer you a 6 months warranty. Returning the lens is no issue and they all will honor the warranty.

Be wise, buy it here.

I never move files. I always copy and then paste them into the new location. Once I see that they are in the new location or folder, etc., I will then simply delete them from the original location and still hold them for a few days in the trash file. The process may be a bit cumbersome, but I kind of have backups files until I am sure they are secure in the new location. Better safe than sorry. I learned from being sorry! LOL

Also, wouldn't you be exporting the files/folders to the external drive from LR? Have you tried importing into LR from the folders you put on the external drive?

Also, are you able to delete any of the stuff that's filled your internal HD?

In my humble opinion, starting the DSLR at the crop size was a huge mistake. Everyone was used to the 35mm SLR. Why make a digital version with a smaller sensor? Yes, the price was lower, but now manufacturers have the double expense of researching and manufacturing two different systems. When I bought my first DSLR, a D90, I didn't know there was any such thing as a crop sensor. Now we have two systems that are not totally compatible and millions of words written about advantages, disadvantages, and compatibility.

With Nikon the difference between DX and FX is 50%, in favor of the FX. So a 100mm lens would have a field of view of 150mm.

May not make any difference but when crop sensor cameras were introduced, one of the big "new" things also introduced, was the wide screen TV. In Nikons case (and most other 35mm camera manufacturers), they already had the FX version, so they only had to R&D only the DX version. You may also notice that TVs and monitors are getting wider and wider but not taller (ultrawide). It's probably just a matter of giving people what they want. Full frame will be around for a while at least at the pro and semi-pro camera levels.

I prefer full frame images and I preferred full frame TV but even if I had a "full frame" TV, most all newer TV shows and movies are wide and ultrawide screen, so I'm out of luck as far as TV and monitors go.
