Winter storms along the Washington coast can be severe. I shot this image a few years back In La Push, WA. There's a small Coast Guard unit there and they used the storm as an opportunity to train in the heavy surf. After watching them for over an hour I told my wife I wanted to go sign up. I know the job they do is deadly serious but, this just looked like too much fun.
Boy is that the truth. When our guy was younger he would launch from the couch and take down the whole tree.
Now he's 16 and weighs 24lbs. He doesn't launch himself anywhere these days.
This will get your heart racing!
These are fantastic images.
Thank you. It's Mt Rainer in Washington state at 14,400'. It's rare day when the mountain is not cloud covered so, you have to take advantage of your opportunities.
I think I messed up. Didn't get the picture downloaded the first time.
Always room for another eagle.
This is a great shot! I love the deep blue colors.
My wife puts feeders up every summer and these guys come in by the dozens.
They have no fear and will get right in your face if you get in their way. I haven't got one to land on my hand yet but, I can get my hand close enough to feel the wind from their wings.
There were 3 more chicks off exploring a new world.
This one decided to stay home a little longer.
I've been following UHH for quite some time and finally decided to join in.
My wife and I retired in July and are still adjusting to the new lifestyle.
We will split our time between Colorado and Washington.
My photography consists of landscapes and wildlife.
