So beautiful - an understatement. I had an opportunity to visit Switzerland once but it was in March and, though I was happy to go, March is March. I hope to go another time when grass is green. The Bernina train looks wonderful. We visited the Bernina sewing machine factory in Steckborn - the machines have red accents. Now I see why.
Thanks for sharing.

It was a perfect time of year and very lush. Weather was perfect as well. Would go back tomorrow. Thanks for checking it out.

My wife and I just returned from an 18 day, 6 countries vacation in Europe. One of our favorite stops was St Moritz, Switzerland. We took a day trip to Torino, Italy and back on the Bernina Express (2 hours each way). To say it was a spectacular train ride would be an understatement. We have all taking photos and said, "Photos can't do this scenery justice". Very true here but I hope these images give you an idea of how beautiful the countryside was that day. These were all taken from a moving train trying and to keep composition. Nikon D850, 28-300 3.5-5.6. I had to keep the shutter up over 1/640 to try to stay sharp. Trying to narrow the photos down to 8 images was difficult but here they are. As always, love to hear back from fellow photographers.

Thanks, this area is great for birds whether your inland like me (6 miles) or on the beach. Many people look at them but don't really see or appreciate them. I've been shooting for about 6 years now and feel my eye keeps getting better. A long way to go to get near some of the photographer in this forum but every step is a step forward. Thanks for taking a look and glad it brought back some memories for you.

Wow!! Those are some great pictures and reminders of the days when we lived in FL.
I retired from the Army out of MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa and lived in that area
for 30+ years before moving back closer to family upon full retirement.
I'm not a photographer - I usually refer to myself as a 'picture taker', and believe me,
I have tried to take a good number of pictures like those.
Again, thanks for the memories . . .

Thanks. I live by the adage that there are practicing doctors and practicing attorneys, we should be practicing photographers. Headed to Europe for 19 days at the end of the month and 7 countries. Lots of opportunities for capturing great shots. Can't wait!

Yes, if wildlife is what you enjoy this is a haven for it. In addition we have a number of sanctuaries you can visit. A little hot this time of year but love that our area is void of snowbirds for a few more months.

Thanks for the preview. We'll be there Saturday, Sept 1. I can't wait to see this city and photograph it from my camera as well as (hopefully) my drone. One of our stops on a 9 day Adriatic cruise.

While only slightly hesitant about flying (or Earth rejecting) the helicopter, it was definitely a great way to view the canyon, especially with a limited amount of time. Driving there and riding a donkey to the riverbed was not an option for me (or my wife) If I had a chance to do it again, I would try to find a tour that would get me there at sunset. I bet the colors are fantastic. But for now I can scratch the Grand Canyon off my list!

Since I have over 2,000 hours flying helicopters I found out one thing.....helicopters really don't fly the earth rejects them.

And I still try to avoid them but would be a good way to view the canyon. I'll continue to enjoy other peoples pictures from the helicopters...

Thanks for the compliment and yes, you are correct it is a Maverick helicopter.

Too funny. The canyon hasn't changed much since then but cameras certainly have. It was a beautiful spot and tour. So glad I can cross this off our bucket list. Thanks for checking in.

Couldn’t resist posting this image from a chopper ride many years ago - shot with a 2 mp Casio. I apologize for poaching.
