After walking through Longwood Gardens yesterday with my 5D III and a 24-70 f/2.8 on my OpTech sling, I remembered how sore my left shoulder got when I carried the camera with a 24-105 f/4 through Italy day after day. I had had an injury to my left shoulder several years ago and the weight of the sling really bothers me. In looking for an alternate way to carry my camera around, I started looking at the Cotton Carrier vest. I would appreciate hearing from members that have and use this vest before I order it.
I appreciate any and all comments. Thank you in advance.

I've had mine for about a year now and like it very much. I tote the 7d2 with the 70-200 mounted on the chest and the 5d3 with the 24-105 on the side. Couple of things to watch out for 1. Make sure the base is mounted on the body with the arrow positioned as suggested for easy release and lock and 2. For my liking, I customized some extra loops (op/tech) as insurance and linked it with the CC system. I feel lot more comfortable that there's a second set of insurance that I don't accidentally let things drop and the straps are modular for easy latch on and off.

Hope this helps.

3 B+W filters (Kaesermann's) about $300 - I am not ashamed! This is what I use now.
I also have a 6 or 7 for my FD glass from the 70's and 80's that's sitting in the closet with my A-1 and a whole bunch of lenses. I am just waiting for Christies' auction house to call me one day and make me rich

Sharpie .... If I would do an analogy, I'd say that an iphone is the Nikon of smartass phones and the Samsung the Canon. Since you are a Canonite, you should be toting the other line.

OP, the S6 should do just fine. I use the Note 4 and am extremely pleased with what it can do in a pinch (I am not a big fan of phone cameras) when I don't have the big guns with me or don't find it appropriate to get them out. The S6 betters what the Note4 has to offer.

There has been much discussion on UHH about this, good arguments on both sides. I personally have all my lenses with the nano B+W MRC on. I figure no point in putting all the money in the L glass and going with a cheap filter.

Just had D7000 stolen (plus a number of lens) now can not decide what to do with the insurance payout. The D7000 was my back up camera and rarely used, with a D7100 as my main camera. I occasionally photograph weddings therefore need a back up. Do I....
1. Replace the D7000 with a D7000 which will never be used (except in emergencies). This will leave me enough for a decent lens.
2. replace it with a D7100, which will mean I have a back up that I am very familiar with (and a better camera) but will leave less for a lens.
3. Replace it with a D7200 and therefore have my D7100 as back up. I suffer from gas but is it really worth blowing the lot on a D7200 when I already have a D7100. Any advice?

I am not a Nikonian, but I'd get the 7200 and use the 7100 as the backup. Start saving for the next glass and find ways to convince the better half - if there's one! Why pour money into older technology. The 7200 isn't all that much more than the 7100 and your payout will probably cover a good bit of the outlay.

I agree ... I am out of here. I was following the thread for the kicks really. Now it seems like we keep feeding this WackoAl more ammunition to fend off and keep his tirade and sermon going. I am not sure how this goes ... only heard it in the movies ... "forgive Wacko Al lord for he does not know what he's mumbling about" .... or something like that.

Quit derailing the thread. Your derailing is extremely inappropriate and offensive. Haven't you h**ers beaten up the four words of theological implications enough? Your cynicism is really sickening.

Back to light, the topic related to photography. Don't any of you know anything about it? Anything? You can't even post the most profound photograph you have ever seen? That's too much to ask?

Yes, yes it is, clearly.

Over 4,700 visits to this thread in only two days. That appears to me to be some kind of record.

Point 1: The h**eful visitors who continually whine have been unsuccessful at having it moved by the moderators. So your beef is with them, not me.
Point 2: If this subject is so very disturbing to you, i.e. you "H**E" having it "SHOVED DOWN YOUR THROATS," why do you continue to return again and again?

I'll answer for you. You return again and again because you demand to shove YOUR dogma down MY throat. You whine and snivel and play the victim. You are card-carrying members of the Pity Party. I'm reading that very interesting and informative book right now.

Light: Say something about that. Anything. Try to look bright, for a change.....

Disturbing, h**eful ... definitely not. This is pure enjoyment (following this thread) and free entertainment for me. In my personal life I interact with people of all religious faiths and we have an understanding - they don't try to get me into their fold and I don't try to get them out of theirs. To each, his or her own comfort level. To me religion is a way of life and people find strength in numbers and feel more secure in associating with something or a group of people with similar beliefs. It just so happens that independent thinkers like many who are participating in this discussion are infact more secure in their own personal beliefs without having to have validation from an organized group.

I frequently don't agree with you Bram Boy, but I do in this case!

Since this thread is so blatantly about religion, I may as well comment on the topic of the original thread, and also since the OP wishes to respect the opinions of others and their freedom to express them.

There are some that believe in a creator, frequently referred to as 'God' as in the title of this thread's original post.

Many praise the creator - 'God' in this thread - for the creation of the universe, this planet and all things that populate it. One of the wonderful things is considered to be the glory of all creation as described in hymns such as "All Things Bright and Beautiful" which is not a bad mantra for a photographer. For those not familiar : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/All_Things_Bright_and_Beautiful

Problem is that many religions suggest that 'God' created man in his image. Unfortunately mankind appears to be the greatest destroyer of "God's" creations. How many species have we caused to go extinct? How many pristine environments have we spoiled? How tolerant of other people's viewpoints are we? How many of us practice a live and let live philosophy, especially towards non-human life-forms?

So if God created 'Man' in his own image, and 'Man' is the greatest destroyer of God's creation, then it would appear that 'God' has some serious issues. Maybe time for 'God' to go to confession and say a few 'Hail Marys!"

But, I think 'God' as a concept would be way smarter than that personally, if such an entity exists. I'm an Orthodox Agnostic by way of full disclosure.

Now, it is abundantly clear to thinking people that our planet is going to be fine. We are not destroying the planet. We do not have the ability to do so. We do have the ability to alter it in such a way that the forms of life that 'God' created can no longer survive sustainably. That includes us!

Why do tornadoes happen so regularly in the 'Bible Belt'? Could it possibly be some kind of subtle hint from 'The Almighty'?

When I look at how mankind is treating "God's" creations it does make me wonder what 'God' might be thinking.

It sometimes makes me think that she is royally pissed and Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned!

Hasa Diga Eebowai! Go Trey Parker, Matt Stone, Robert Lopez!

I like that - a term I hadn't heard before. Just curious is there any other kind?
