I'm totally new with my Canon EOS 620 film camera, and I'm so happy to have the quality in this camera, (can't afford the same quality with a digital SLR). So please tell me a little about the "somethings just can't be done with digital." I'm so happy to have this film camera.

The zoom lens already on my Canon EOS 620 body is very big and heavy. How do I find out the model number and whether or not it has Image Stabilization already or not? Where is the model number? No manual has been found.

Thanks in advance.

Wow! Thanks for this information! What is an IS-enabled lens? I'm so grateful for your help!

Any of Canon's EF lenses will work with this EOS film body, including IS-enabled lenses. Canon's newest 50mm model is the Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 STM. I personally use Canon's original EF 50mm dating back to 1987. The lens runs about $150 new. To save some money, shop this lens and other used options from KEH.com looking at EX or EX+ rated listings. B&H sells used lenses as well.

I wanted a nicer camera than my older point-and-shoot digital camera. I can't afford new Digital SLR. My husband had an old Canon EOS 620... with a huge telephoto lens. All I needed to buy was a 2CR5 6V lithium battery and film. I bought 200 and 400 color film and 1 B&W, at Amazon, and a new battery. Now, I have learned that with a huge telephoto lens you really need 800 film???
The more I learned about the Canon EOS 620 camera, the more I am impressed. Automatic Focus is great.
I seriously want a more "normal" lens. I have no idea where to get one; need part (model) number, need to understand what I need.
I found a company that develops film online. I am very impressed. They are even having a portrait B&W contest until October 30th.

I'm very, very happy with this camera. It sat on a shelf for at least 15 years. Luckily it had no battery installed, nor film that could have hurt it.
I have only taken 11 photos with the 200 speed film, and they are probably all blurry due to me shaking (moving a little) while holding it. I don't have a tripod yet.
I am incredibly happy to find this Forum. Greetings to all.
