Hope no one gets frostbite on this challenge

Every year, Hudson, Wisconsin hosts the "Hudson Hot Air Affair" the first full weekend in February. This was the 35th annual event. It is billed as the Premier Hot Air Balloon Festival in the upper midwest. While they were unable to fly during the day due to low cloud ceiling, the did hold their "Moonglow" event, where a number of balloons (I'd guess 15 - 18?) are inflated but do not leave the ground. It was obviously an evening event, starting a little after 6:30 pm. My wife - who is also a photography hobbyist - surprised me with a date night.

It was a challenging shoot, as lighting conditions were obviously not ideal and cold weather made me less than steady, but these are a few of my favorites from the evening.

All of these were shot with a Canon 7D Mark ii and an old Canon 18 - 55. ISO 10,000. I'm amazed how well the images held up at an ISO that high.
