debating these historic facts in our time is so often absurd and of no real value except with in the limits of that historic reference. I find vary little in old testament writings of importance to modern day moral structures.

A classic is the so called Arch of the Covenant. The object in question was originally so termed as a "contract" and existed long before the Hebrew nation absconded it and renamed it. Now in Axon in Ethiopia, it was so poorly understood by most Hebrews that one of their tribes (Levitz) were completely decimated by it. That is what I have found in reading the historic information without all the 'religious take' on the subject.

I also do not subscribe to the rhetoric of terms like 'pornography'. As has been stated over and over, if you don't like viewing something stop looking and move on. And as an important point, child pornography is under some control as is bestiality, by some vary smart individuals, so don't go there, save it for the attic where this nonsense belongs.

I googled that and found: https://www.bibleref.com/Genesis/9/Genesis-9-23.html

What does Genesis 9:23 mean?
The previous verses describe a scenario involving Noah and his sons without providing more than the barest of details. Even so, this event will have grave implications. Noah got drunk on the wine from his new vineyard (Genesis 9:21). In his drunkenness, he lay naked in his own tent. Noah's son Ham walked in, saw him naked, and went out and told his brothers.

The response of Shem and Japheth reveals how seriously they and their culture took the issue of seeing another's nakedness and honoring one's father. With great care and creativity, they found a way to cover their father without ever looking at him. In this way, they honored Noah greatly.

Did Ham intend to dishonor Noah? The following verse will imply that he did, resulting in Noah's curse on Ham's descendants (Genesis 9:25). Some suggest that Ham's sin was failing to help his father by covering him—instead, Ham went to tell others what he had seen. Others believe that "what He did to [Noah]" (Genesis 9:24) was something more disturbing and personal. The extremely vague nature of the passage, in its own way, supports this idea since ancient literature was famously shy about describing certain shameful acts in any detail. In any case, whatever Ham has done is so offensive, it brings severe consequences.

Well Tox;
this is a good link and I read it and I think we are on the same page here.
There is nothing about nudity shameful here or anywhere in the Bible that I can find.
The disrespect Ham showed to his father was going to his brothers and talking about it. If Ham was concerned about his father and what would be his concern ?
IF Ham was concerned about his father what would his concern be ?
Ham could have covered his father if he felt that was what was needed but I think Noah would have come around and done this himself.
So nudity in itself is not shameful to me or anywhere in the bible BUT I see where thorough the ages perversions of nudity have it a perversion and or disgraceful insult to the beauty of God's created being, Us.
So it is easy for some to blame God or whoever or whatever some of the societal stuff we see today.
Well tell me what you think ?

So it appears I'm one of the few photographers to post male nudity here and I have had some very positive feedback on the images I've posted and a few people who said quite literally "this forum should only be for female nudes". That's exactly what one guy said—indeed, he specified young, pretty, female nudes. I was very surprised in this day and age that in a forum about serious nude or semi-nude photography of the body someone would declare it should only focus on female work and you kind of have to wonder if these guys who said such are really interested in photography or more interested in ogling pretty ladies. Because it sounds like that's all that interests them here, all they wish to see.

Back to the issue of penis vs. vagina, I've seen other photographers here post full frontal female nudes. You are seeing what you'd see if you walked in and the lady was nude. In my work, you see full frontal male nudes. In neither case are you seeing porn or direct suggestion of sexual activity, so I think it's on the same level.

I would hope as long as this form is labeled "Nude Photography, Boudoir Photography, NSFW, Discussions and Pictures" then it allows both female and male and all manner of tasteful erotic photography of adults.

There has been a few males in the past including me. A year or so ago I wanted to have some fun after a lady member asked why more men don't do anything, Sooooooo, I did, just for fun and MAN OH MAN did I stir up the litter box.
No penis vivible, but at my age would have been hard to find anyway hahahha.
Dude I GOT tons of views and some comments of all kinds. Kinda wants me to do it again just keep the crowd worked up.

Since the beginning of recorded history, the nude has been featured in artworks of all types. The Bible tells us that there was no need of clothing in the garden of Eden, but when Adam and Eve disobeyed God, he taught them shame and cast them out. So, clothing became a necessity as well as a punishment.

The shame is what has caused the furor. We have no need for God's punishment now because we punish ourselves.

The human form is most intriguing. I see nothing wrong with exploring it artistically.

Fred;
I have never been or had anything wrong with nudity, it is just people being beautiful. I do not know where you got the idea that God taught them shame ? He did not from what I read. The story is written that when their eyes were opened THEY realized they were naked. So when God came to visit, they hid from him because they KNEW they were naked. God asked them, 'who told you that you are naked ? '.
When asked if they ate from the fruit, AH YES, the original blame game began, Adam replied,, the woman whom you gave me offered it to him. Ah yea, the choices we make.
Nudity is beautiful, always has been unless perverted by porn and smut peddlers.
This topic should open to free expression.
Oh well, my thoughts this morning.

I am half-Danish and half-English and find that the way many people even change clothes at a gym or pool in the States seems very cautious and prudish. Nudity when appropriate is seen in a matter of fact manner in Europe whereas here is seems it almost always is called upon with sexual references. Part of the reason I did my nude self-portraits was to present a nude in a way that I hope questions that, and questions our approach to nudes in life drawing classes and otherwise in fine art as well.

Is there a double standard here?

One can post self-portrait with a penis visible but showing a vagina is deemed obscene by some.

Pray tell, what is the difference? Both are sex organs, nothing more, nothing else.

I do not see the point of showing either. If you allow one but refuse the other, you are wrong.

Pushing the obscenity to its extreme, a naked breast, man or woman is way too sexualized, so both should be banned or both accepted. The hypocrisy over women's breasts is baffling to me.

Sam, you have at least five pages of responses but open replies from you ?
You have received responses that offer you everything you need.
I offer mine to help.
pmorin showed a simple slide on and off filter that I would have bought if I knew of it at that time.
What I presented in my home made one I bought from a credible astronomy store and the filter sheet is proven so I was able to make three filters, two being able to quickly slide on the lens and the other was attached to the lens shield so it was able to quickly remove and attack as the sun started it appearance.
Since we will only have 4+ minutes this counts.
Let us know where you are on this because it is a good chance will look back on.

I changed printers and I have this ink from the old one. Printer was just too big for my area.
The new unopened is Blue and Yellow.
The others have ink but were in the printer.
Make me an offer at least to cover postage if interested.
Most sincerely, Bruce in Grand Prairie, Texas.

You have some good advice and links offered. As your neighbor in Grand Prairie, we are right in total path so it will be really a good opportunity to photo it.
Look in the Astro section and there is a lot of goof information there including my posts that showed how I made mine for the two cameras I used on the last we had, the annular one.
I bought an 8x11 inch sheet of solar film and made mine. My objective was to be able to quickly and easily pull it off during totality and then slide it back on as the sun starts reappearing.
If you are using one camera this is the best way and easiest.
See me examples, I only posted a few for you to get an idea what I did and very cheap to make.
The solar film looks like it has stuff on it but that is actually just reflections.
Start early because there will be a demand on solar stuff as we get closer to April.
Bruce.

Solar film sandwiched between the beer carton cardboard I used.

I have seen the numerous replies about IQ and I had NO IDEA this subject would come up on my simple post.
But, now I must question:
Who determines IQ and based on what ?

I have in my life seen people with college degrees and have paper all over the wall but still stupid as shit.
But when one is stupid they do not know they are stupid and think others are because they do not think like them.
Just educated fools who lack open objective thinking on their own.

Admin is keeping an eye on this thread. I got a message from Admin that one of my posts had been removed. My post was a very short response expressing agreement with another post that apparently had wandered into politics.

I was not aware of any political talk at the time and, with both posts now gone, I can't remember what it was about. But I'm glad Admin is keeping an eye on things.

I too am glad the admin is monitoring this.
I too have had a reply deleted and I was not thinking it was political but replying to a reply on one of the treads somewhere.
I saw some replies and comments that were out right political in comments.
I was going to reply and thank to member for sending us the attic.

I came in Saturday afternoon and saw an email the post had been moved to the attic. Well yea I saw that coming too.
I wrote the admin and apologized and not to Please hold this against me. It was not my intention for this post to spiral out like it did.
I made at three comments to replies that there is a forum they own for politics and this is where the members should go and play there.
Political statements are forbidden all across UHH. But hey ? Some cannot help themselves.

Later I noticed my post had been cleaned up and moved back to chit-chat.
I respect and thank the admin for doing this for the members sake so they can play around in here.

It only takes ONE COMMENT to start a chain reaction.

Well at least I hope I brought some fun and entertainment with this post.

Thank you for the insight Linda.
I did not stay in the attic so I do not know about the over all contents but the brief, and I mean brief minute I was there just looking I could see the pattern.
So, the good thing is there is a place these topics can reside so members can play all they want with out cluttering up this section.
I must say that the members here have been OVER OVERWHELMINGLY GRACIOUS and HELPFUL when I needed some help either with photo processing, questions needing help, etc.
So, the attic is a place that at least is a play ground for those who want to do that.
