I don’t expect anyone here to know what they are going to do. I guess I didn’t get my question correct. What I want to know is, if it is possible that a firmware upgrade could change the FPS. Because if it is I might take a chance and buy the camera in hopes that they would do a firmware change in the future.

Have you asked Nikon if it is possible for a firmware upgrade to increase frame rate? I should think they would know more than any of us here.

I am looking at a Z5 to get into mirrorless, but it only shoots 4.5 FPS. I shoot a lot of college and school Lacrosse and I would like at least 8 FPS. This number coming from my D7500 and works out perfect for the action shots. What I would like to know is, is it possible for Nikon to do a firmware Update to increase the frame rate? The Z5 has everything I want except the speed. I have asked Nikon about doing an upgrade, but they said they are not at liberty to tell me what is going to be updated in their cameras or updates to their cameras. Any information that you can give me will be greatly appreciated.
Please Stay Safe and keep shooting !!

If Nikon will not divulge features of impending upgrades, how would you expect anyone here to know??

You might want to try a filter like a ND2.

Would you please explain how to use a #2 neutral density filter to predict atmospheric conditions?

Why wallow in it? Certainly doesn't make sense to me to dredge up and quantify the negatives caused by the panicdemic.

It's probably as good a subject to whine about as any.

I could guess that since primes are usually better than zooms for clarity, one would like to have something like I used to: a 28, 35, 50, 135, and a 200, all fixed focal lengths yielding different views.
Then there are equipment collectors who like to have one of each focal length, maybe to cover all possible situations? (I used the 28 more than the 35.) Maybe because each focal length has different image characteristics? Usually fixed lenses have a wider aperture as opposed to zooms.

Since I'm not a professional or a perfectionist, I found that my zoom covers the gamut for me nicely. Also less equipment to carry. No worrying about changing lenses to get different renditions of a scene.

But everyone is different in their desires and requirements, therefore reasons.

The question "How many lenses do you own?" reads like another inane poll such as have appeared lately, but you've put it in an altogether different light. Thank you!

It was, I wondering the same thing.
Just because someone asks a question, they are not intelligent?
Or do you have many lenses and cannot explain why?

In my previous life I had 6 to 7 lenses back when primes were primary, now I have two, one is a zoom.

Being an optimist, I was hoping the purpose was for more than idle chit-chat. No such luck!

Why is it that photographers are obsessed with obtaining so many lenses? I only have 3 lenses that serve me well. I have owned them now for about 8-10 years during which I have bought 4 new bodies. My lenses are the Canon 10-22mm efs, the 24-105mm L EF, and the 100-300mm EF. During the time i have owned these lenses I have owned the Canon XT, the 60d, 70d and now the 90d bodies. But I have never had a desire to buy new lenses. Why would I? My 24-105 is my general purpose lens. I use it for 75% or more of my shots. The 10-22 is for when I have to go wide and the 100-300 is for sports, wildlife and general telephoto needs. I cannot imagine needing anything else other than maybe a 50mm prime with a large aperture. I don’t have a camera bag big enough for anymore lenses.

Some suggestions for a flash unit for my D500. I have a 70-300 lens a 90 mm lens a kit lens and a wide angle lens all are Tamaron

Check your user's manual for the recommended units. All you will get here are biased opinions. For what little it's worth, my own biased opinion is that, of all the third party units available, Metz is a top brand. Among the lower priced flashes, Sunpak and Vivitar have impressive track records. I have no experience with any other brands.

Pictures posted with no location - it would be nice to know where the scenic/buildings/statues/art/bridges/etc. shots were taken.

Discussions about areas by name or abbreviations with no refernece to location - remember, not everyone is familiar with the area you are discussing - a local reference to a place means nothing to an outsider and sometimes Google does not have an answer...

Using abbreviations or acronyms for places/things - not everyone knows what they mean - please spell them out.

If you want to copy what someone else shot, ask them via PM. I agree on the idiotic use of acronyms.

I have a Novatron 440 lighting system; three strobe heads, three light stands and umbrella reflectors and power supply, all in good working order. Is this worth selling or should I keep it?

If you want to keep it, keep it. If you want to sell it, sell it.

Due to being stuck in one place because of the virus and the advancing years, I have begun to shoot some macro. (Why it is called macro and not micro has always bothered me.) I 've seen some really good macro photos, and some have been "focus stacked." I don't focus stack, considering it too much fuss and bother. Or, as one long time photographer friend of mine once said, "I didn't get into this hobby to play with computers." Rather, I have a macro lens that will get me to f/32, so I go for maximum depth of field and add needed light via a flash or a reflector.

Opinions?

Depending upon how sharp your lens is to begin with, and the end use of the image, a 20% loss of sharpness can be piddling. Much ado about not much.

I found this in an old photo bag and I don't know what it is. It looks like a clamp for a light or tripod. It has a screw that opens the clamp/round part. It has rubber grippers inside of the round part. No writing on it at all...no identification. Thanks for your help.

Can you find a photographer to take some detailed pictures of it?

Does any one know of a good sized back pack that would be able to hold the following: a sigma 150-600 and the trinty of 2.8 lens's. I tried a Esddi from Amazon and it's too small,or am I dreaming.

If you have the gear, you know what size you need. The manufacturers list their dimensions - you have to work at it to get the wrong size.
