That maybe, but I'd rather trust a bunch of 8 year olds with a bunch of rocks instead of pepper spray or only one person with pepper spray and hope they get it right the first time in a panic situation.

I see your ignorance is showing. For one I'm not a liberal, far from it. For two with advanced warning, which for most of the school there is, the rocks can be distributed so when the murder does step through the door and is looking for a target several rocks from different directions can be thrown at once with many rocks to follow. Most likely the murdering coward will leave and look for easier targets. That's why they choose a gun free zone to start with, fish in a barrel, no resistance. Plus if you'd actually read the entire message I stated it's not the best method but it's better than nothing.

Actually that's not as bad of an idea as you think. It's been proven time and again that if someone has things flying at them, especially their face, they will automatically go into self defense mode. It's hard to shoot at anything when you're swatting at rocks so you're not getting hit. I'll admit not it's not the best method of defense but it's definitely better than hiding under an open desk or pepper spray.
