Sounds kinda like Coal in Newcastle, but here's the question. My wife and I are going to Florida/Key West next week. We will be going through Kentucky in the Land Between the Lakes area, and I am just wondering if there are any horse ranches (or whatever they call them.) along or nearby i24 where I might be able to get a few pictures?
Thanks,

Taking the roadkill off the road is a good thing, I do it. safer traffic without the buzzards all over the road.

There are no buzzards in North America. They are vultures black or turkey.
1. Black vulture - southern US
2 Turkey vulture = all over US
3. African Buzzard - we would consider them hawks.

I am looking at neoprene covers for a nikon5300. It looks like there are 'covers' and 'cases'. Covers have holes in them that allow you to use the camera with the cover on, whereas cases are for toting the camera and limit the lens size. I am most interested in something that will provide a little protection when caught in a light rain or mist. Any opinions?

I suppose that is true, I was just out and took a whole series of shots to see what differences there were. I am not specifically asking about depth of field, I am asking where to start with any shot?

OK,I know that shutter speed, f-stop and iso together are supposed to combine to give you the perfect exposure (perfect being a relative term) But when shooting in manual mode where do you start? example, if I want a narrow depth of field I should set aperture low like 6.5. To avoid over exposure I suppose shutter speed would have to be pretty fast. Where would iso come in? And where do you start for other situations like portraits?

What is the difference between a wide angle lens and other lenses? Are they labeled as wide angle , I have a Nikkor 18:55mm and some articles I have read seem to suggest that is, but it seems to me that.it should be labeled as wide.

ViewBug is a contest website. Does anyone know how legit this site is? I just wonder who has time to go through thousands of photos submitted to their contests?

I just started trying to use the manual mode on this and I noticed that when I turn the front ring to focus it seems to catch after turning it a ways. if you turn a little harder it seems to skip and then turns ok. Is this a normal stop or is there dirt or something wrong with the lens? It seems to auto focus ok.

I have a Ravelli tripod with a ball head which is supposed to be a good head for fast adjustment but I have Parkinson's disease and the camera flops around when I loosen it up. Would a gimbal head or tilt & pan be better? And how can you tell if the head can be replaced? I can remove the ball head at the pan section and there is a stud that it screws onto about 5/16 or so. Will that accept a different head or do I have to buy a tripod also? The longest lens I use is a Sigma 175-500mm.

We are finally going to Kearney, NE to see the crane migration. Of course, I am taking my Nikon, and would like some tips about getting good shots. We plan to watch in the morning when they fly, but when and where can you see them do their dances? Anyone with experience , feel free to share. I have the short lens that came with the 5300' and A Sigma 125-300mm and a Sigma 500mm zoom.

I just got anOp/Tech camera strap for a Nikon 5300 with a Sigma
70_300mm lens. I think that the strap works fine but I have noticed that the lens slides out as I walk. Is this normal or is there a problem with the lens? It happens Linda Manual l or auto.

I have a Raveli tripod with a bulkhead,. It is not a high end unit, but it work s ok. The problem is that since you have to loosen the ball clamp to adjust the camera flops and you have to PLay around to get it l pointed right. Is that the case with all of these kind of heads? I have Parkinson's disease so it is a problem. What type would you recommend?
