I use and kike a program called Goodsync. I use it to backup my photos and data ... located on different hard drives in my desktop. Goodsync does not compress the backed up files, you are able to open and view your backed up files just like you do the original files. I not technical, but after you have made your first backup Goodsync has the ability to check your backup against the originals and only needs to add the changes you made to the originals since the last backup, thus the backup process does take nearly as long. Hope that made sense to you. Also if you made changes to the original files (as in ereased or changes some pictures) it gets rid of the files that were erased. I use a different program to backup my C: drive (operating system and programs) Acronis

Not a matter of being unwilling, it's just that the new camera and all the new glass is just too expensive right now. Seriously thing about the 7DII, a few more pixels than the 7D, excellent focus capabilities, a bit better noise capability. Not sure about the 90D what happens when they fit 32 mp on a crop sensor ... noise get worse? - probably. Love to move up to the 5DIV but not going to happen at this time too much $$ Thanks again for all your help, very much appreciated!

Thanks again for the reply, you have given me enough information to make a decision (after I think about the options for a bit) no perfect choice will need to consider what my options are/should be. Right now considering the 90D, but time will tell. I am aware that the 7DII is at the end of its life, no clear path to any upgrade to a (7DIII). Looks like I would need to purchase a new camera when/if either camera gets an upgrade? I am not a professional, just like to get out & shoot .... we all get stuck out in the rain/snow occasionally ... All landscape/wildlife photographers need some weather protection. Anyway, decision time is just around the corner ... Thanks one more time for your help/input/suggestions, sorry to take so much of your time, be safe, have fun.

OK, I'd like to ask a couple of questions then I'll quit wasting your time. Will the Tamron 150 - 600mm exhibit the same dark outer edges mentioned in the canon EFS lenses, making it a poor choice to use on the Canon 5DIV? Last question, for those of you who care to reply ... would you choose the 7DII or the 90D if you had to choose (7DII has 20 MP compared to the 90D 32 mp plus in the differences in focus system and other technical differences) I will need to make a choice as it doesn't look like I'll be able to afford the 5DIV and the lens' I want/need. Thank you

Mostly just looking to try a full frame camera and the upgrade to 30 mp would be nice resolution-wise - improved crop pictures, improved focus system, better ISO in lower light situations, and to be honest just want a new camera, what can I say?

Thanks, everyone for the quick feedback. I was afraid that most/all of my lens might not work, good to have the information before I pull the trigger on purchasing the 5DIV - revisit the ol checkbook!

Thanks for the "blunt" reply I'd rather get the blunt information, it is a lot more useful. I assume the Tamaron 150 - 600 will not attach to the 5DIV either? I really like that lens for the reach it offers. Thanks again

I'm thinking about upgrading from my current camera (7D, not 7D II) to a 5D mark IV and would like some feedback and information as to whether my existing lens' will work with the 5D IV. First, I shoot mainly landscape and wildlife, but if the opportunity presents itself and piques my interest I'll shoot most anything. Mostly upgrading because my current camera is a little old and I would like to try a full-frame camera, also the newer technology offered by the newer cameras. I like my 7D and it has served me well, but full-frame and upgrading to 30 megapixels interests me. The lens that I will want to use with the new camera are the Tamron 150-600 mm F5-6.3, Canon EFS 17-55 mm F2.8 and the kit lens purchased at the same time I purchased the camera - Tamron o62- 7-300mm F4 - 5.6, Canon EFS 18 -0 135mm and Canon EFS 10-22 mm f 3.5 - 4.5 Any feedback will be appreciated - thanks

Like many of you, I've kept busy going thru my archives during my "shelter at home" time. Attached are a few photos from an airplane ride we took in 2014, Please have a look.

I also have Acronis True Image 2020, like you, I find the explanations from Acronis "overly technical" difficult to get a straight forward answer to fairly simple questions. Also I find it very difficult/impossible to contact customer service at Acronis - frustrating!
I use Acronis to "backup" my C drive (where the operating systems in installed). I use the single backup method ... when I do a backup there is usually already an existing backup on the drive (from an earlier backup) ... the single backup scheme executes a new full backup then deletes to old backup so you always have a current full backup, not sure that helps you or not?
I'm fairly sure it's a good program, but makes me a little nervous as to what will happen if I ever need to do a restore, and pretty sure the backup on my external drive is compressed. I only have the OS and my programs on the C drive.

The opinion writer expressed a very dark view of the future regarding the v***s and I for one don't believe in most of what was said in the article. Where I live (the state) as of yesterday there have been a cumulative total of 448 cases reported (0.04% of the total population); a total of 14 people have died (0.0013% of the total population) would have been better if nobody ad died, but that's no possible; out of the 448 cases 339 have recovered, currently 11 active hospitalizations in the entire state; only 3 new new cases in the entire state in the last 2 days;
The flu has sickened & k**led many more people that c****-** and there are shots available for the flu, more have died in car accidents, suicides, smoking, heart attacks & etc, lets try to put things in perspective and not be so damn negative.
Nonessential small business (also most of the larger business) will not be able to reopen if this self quarantine persists, unemployment payments won't be available much longer, people will by turned out into the streets if they are unable to pay rent ... and on & on. We have to restart the economy now or we will not be able to get it done. Restart in phases (not all at once) 6 ft. separation, masks, wash hands frequently, reduced capacity in local business places, you know the drill, do it! Keep track of the statistics and be prepared to react if things change.
For Gods sake don't let opinion writers and questionable polls rule your thoughts and actions, roll up your sleeves and get to work, you can't hide in your houses forever!!

Here's the facts
Montana's population was 1,068,778 in 2019, We have 145,552 square miles of LAND, this does not include any water. That means there are 7.3429 people per square miles.

There is 27,878,400 square feet in a square mile, so each person has 3,796,647 square feet. That is 1,948.4986 by 1,948.4986 feet for each person. if each person stood in the center of there square they would be .3690 miles apart.

With 56 counties, 28 have zero reported cases, 8 have 1. That's 64.2857% of our counties with 1 or less cases.

We have 387 confirmed cases, or .00032095 of our population.
With 6 deaths that .00000561388 of our population

So far this year we have had 29 people die in traffic accidents.

I think all roadways should be shut down as deaths on the roads are 4.83333 times worse.

YES THIS IS A BAD THING! BUT WE HAVE TO BRING COMMON SINCE BACK INTO THE EQUATION

Here's the facts br Montana's population was 1,068... (show quote)

Just goes to show you that numbers alone don't show the whole picture unless used in context (by-the-way works out to be more like 26.3 sq ft/person, not 3,796,647

Just curious, is the dust you are referring to actually noticeable?, do you have to be doing some serious "pixel peeping" to see it? .... 300 to 500 magnification??
