This series of images are part of an extensive community of river homes on the Columbia River just to the west of Portland OR. By no means are these people just drifters or anything like that, a lot of them are in the business world and such.

About 5 miles west of Portland Oregon the Columbia R. Freighter is outbound after delivering all those Chinese products that we purchase.

Traverse City, staioned in the area back in the very early sixties.. Loved NW Michigan. Still grow cherries their or did the gapes take over. - And yeah that was areal snow belt area.
