I searched a little on Google. There were others complaining about the same thing. I found no solutions.

Me either. This seems like it would be a simple software item that could be assigned to a button. I have just about had it with this camera and the focus point moving. This is a basic function that has been on every other Digital Nikon I have owned and should be there. I never know where the focus point will be when I go to take a photo.

Went to the zoo today and every time I went to take a picture with back button focus my thumb would touch the joy stick and move my focus point. Is there a way to just turn off the joy stick so it cannot change my focus point.I know I can press the center of the joy stick and make it go to center but I do not like that option. I should not have to do that every time I take a photo. I may want it to stay in a location other than the center.

Is Z7ii different?

Don't know, I don't have a Z7ii. I would think it would work the same.

Sometimes these Z line cameras are like learning photography all over again!

I have been shooting for over fifty years and I will have to say that the mirrorless has been the biggest learning curve of any camera I have owed!

Figured it out
Custom settings menu
shooting display
Apply settings to live view
Now it works

You are supposed to be able to see changes of exsposure in the viewfinder on a Z6ii and mine stays the same while making adjustments.

Perfect timing, lighting, focus, with even a good background! My only suggestion would be to position yourself so that the horse is jumping toward you than away from you.

Usually they have this set up great for taking photos but this year it was set up as screwed up as it could get for taking pictures. I moved around but pretty much everywhere was a bad location for shooting.

Looks like you were traveling in my territory, Grandpaw! I like the treatment you’ve applied to this image, especially the glow. This one should hang on your wall. Mind sharing what you did?
