SX50.

I have a mess of odd ball pics that don't make up sets. Here are 3 from different towns on different dates.

#1 Newcastle Lighthouse--Xmas eve & light rain.

#2 House just outside of Maclean. Also light rain.

#3 Yamba at dusk.

only Newcastle Lighthouse came through Dook

I debated if I wanted to mute the background or black it out. I decided to black it out and the judge agreed that it was the way to go. I'm happy.

Well done

Please critique this picture for me

A super sunset but my eye keeps getting drawn to the bottom right hand corner of darkness.
My feeling would be to crop about a third from the dark part.

That is my very humble opinion

I am not accomplished at adding text to my photography, so I will add my photography to this text. I have strong feelings about expressing my sincere wishes for all of you to have a wonderful and memorable Christmas holiday. I hope to convey my appreciation and admiration to all you talented beings that so willingly share amongst the other members of this forum your experience, your insights, and your talents.

With the hectic bustle of the season I have nearly missed getting this posted. As such is the case, I am wishing you all a Merry Christmas, AND a Happy Boxing Day.

We don't celebrate Boxing Day here in the U.S. and honestly I am uncertain as to why the 26th of December is celebrated and known as Boxing Day. I do remember I looked it up one time and unfortunately have forgotten. Soooo, I will needs be looking it up again once I complete this post!

I share with you an image I captured on the Day of Christmas eve. This is a reasonably rare blossom on of all things, a Christmas Cactus. It only blooms once a year, and fortunately for me I was here, at a relatives home, to witness the second of 11 blossoms that will open and present itself before the cactus goes dormant for the next 11 1/2 months. For the life of me I can't imagine how this plant with it's simple beauty knows it is Christmas time and it is time to display it's blossoms.

I hope you like it and take to heart its silent message of peace and beauty.

Merry Christmas and Happy Boxing Day!!! And raise your glass of preferred beverage for a unified salute to a great and eventful New Year!

Peace and beauty has to be heaven sent.

Thankyou for sharing this wonderful blossom
