The black of the lens draws (attracts) the heat. Don't have that problem here in the UK.I have that lens and am pleased with the results I get with it.

Can anyone recommend how to clean up my 13" R3000 color printer, heavy blotches of black appear on letter printing. I used this printer for all, letters and fine art. This unit constantly wants to clean the print head and wasting ink. I contacted Epson and they recommend an authorized repair shop, probably too expensive for a 2011 printer. A similar unit today costs $700 (similar to the 2011 price). Is it worth it ?

See my other post in answer to Deb Ann.

I have this printer but I reserve it for printing only high quality photographs. I think you would be better off getting a cheap all-in-one for printing letters and anything else that isn't too important.

I do clean my own heads. Here's how. Turn on the printer and pull the plug to release the print head unit - so it will move freely across the carrier.

Make a solution of 8 parts Windex (make sure it's the original formula - no additives) and 2 parts plain alcohol (no colour). Dampen a J-Cloth with this liquid. Fold the cloth and lay it down over the head carrier. Then with your hand, push the head back and forth over the cloth several times. This will soften the hardened ink. Leave the damp cloth on the carrier for 24 hours. Then remove and restart the printer. You may have to run two or three prints through the machine to get it back to normal. I have done this twice after seeing streaks on my prints and it cured the problem.

"lay it down over the head carrier."??? I have found it better to lay the J-Cloth under the head carrier. I am using 'Magic Bullet' a recommended product for this purpose. (Quite expensive-but not harmful to the printer) I fear that I have air in two (Yellow and PK Black) of the tubes which carry ink from the cartridges to the print-head. A long and tedious job lies ahead .

I use Gossen Profi Six , any format up to 5 x 4. For studio flash work the Bowens SSR MK 11. Readings are Incident, 90%+ of the time. If a reflected reading, it is taken from a grey-card.

I take the photograph, design the layout, print the result on double sided paper, and post off the results. Only one person to blame if I am not satisfied.

But I like mirrors. They are so much fun!

I'll have to 'Reflect' on that one, but I like it.

The grass is always greener when captured with a mirrorless camera.

But it can then be corrected in Photoshop.

Dear Santa, I have definitely NOT been good. But I deserve a New Hasselblad Digital Camera with the 50, 80, 150 and 250 mm lenses.
If I do not get them I will continue to place fake sky's in all of my photo shopped images.
Many thanks, your best buddy.

I have got the four lenses, but only got two 500c bodies.

A good 'clean' result. I have been criticized for inverting the ball image, in some of my shots. Perhaps by people who have never done their own shots, using a globe.

Are you letting a mirror hold you back from the photographer you were meant to be?

I was using cameras before SLR and DSLR's were in vogue. One Leica...two MPP 5 x 4 one Sanderson Whole-Plate. The SLR family was just progress.

I remember from years back, illustration of a racing car taken by a press photographer, using the focal-plane shutter, on a 5 x 4 camera The wheels of the car were very elongated (Egg-shaped) . The distortion was very dependent on the direction shutter blind was moving in relation to (Panning / swing) of the camera. A leaf shutter lessened any distortion of the wheel, and car body.

That is correct, at least with the Nikon z, you look directly at the sensor when you remove the lens. The sensor is so vulnerable.

That must be why I have not bought a Nikon Z camera body!!

My 82mm CPL screws into lens, or step-up ring. Adjust polar rotation for wanted - effect, replace 'Petal' lens hood onto the bayonet mount on front of lens. This does not move/ rotate/affect the polar setting. Other CPL filters that I use are attached to the lens, and a round (sometimes rubber) lens hood screws into the filter, which can be rotated to get the wanted effect / setting.
