A wonderful series of two Montanan’s who are willing to brave the elements of winter. Very nice work.

Thanks! It was a blast playing in all that new powdery snow and that sunshine was amazing!!!

Majestic scenery.

It sure is! We had a blast plus it was great that we were the only two people on the lake.

New, untouched snow is so pretty! These are beautiful images. But I'm glad I can look at them from inside my house in sunny, sort-of warm Arizona!

It really is pretty when the snow is shimmering in the sunlight and to be able to play in all that new snow was a blast!

Ahh yes those balmy 10° days when you can really warm up. I used to take a large sheet of black plastic, throw it down by the ice hole, lay on the plastic and cover me and the ice hole up to shut off the sunlight. Then you could look down in the hole and see the fish, if any, swimming right below you. Fun times. Your photos bring back many memories.

Glad to bring back some good memories for you! Being inside the ice house does really help to be able to see the fish under the ice but it was just so pretty outside and warm enough that the hole and your line were not freezing up....so we stayed outside most of the time. You wouldn't have been able to lay down ...there was a layer of water on top of the ice then the snow on top of the water....so it was pretty mushy ....you would have gotten soaked!! And the ice was about 8 inches thick.

This is the 2nd lake we have been on that was this way.....it hasn't rained for months and has not been above 30 for the last month or so....so not sure why there is a water layer on top of the ice!

Beautiful set of photos, Cindy!

However, too cold for this old guy, so I’ll leave the snow and cold fun to you.

Thanks....we did have fun! The snow was so powdery that it was coming up over the hood of the snowmobile...we were covered in snow by the time we got to the lake!

Gorgeous views, Cindy. Glad you and Randy are hardy enough to go there in that cold.

Once you have the snowmobile suit, helmet and gloves on...you don't even notice the cold! And the Mission Mountain range is amazing.
