It was very early morning and I was attempting to get into position for when the light would get better, I was spotted by the flamingos but was rewarded with this awesome scene.

I took these yesterday at the Fioli's estate. All spring flowers are blooming now they daffies, tulips, hyacinths, iris etc. had a great time, but after a few hours of walking my age caught up with me, I got sooo tired. i'll post some more flowers tomorrow.
Btw. Remember the old TV show "Dynasty"? it was filmed at this location.

Very nice, looks a good place to get picture.

I have recently been told by a member of UHH that my shots are ill lit and thus not good. I do run into different conditions and handle them in camera with shutter speed and ISO, etc. Here are three recent shots, Bright early morning light, dark swamp with just a small ray of sun, and water with white bird and bright blue skies, I hope I handled them well. Please try the download
1. M mode, f/4.5, 1/3,000, ISO 200, @108 mm
2. M, f/5.6, 1/350, ISO 200, @300mm
3. M f/5.6, 1/1,500, ISO 200 @ 300mm
Canon T1i, canon 100-300mm lens w/tamron 1.4X
AI SERVO, Spot Metering
All shots are hand held

I do not know who told you your shots are ill lit and not good but as we would say over here, They should have gone to Specksavers. ( an Opticians ) May be they have green eyes. I wish I could get pictures as good as yours. I love the middle one in the swamp.

I share the experience of seeing the reaction of a Crested Serpent Eagle from my recent visit to the Jim Corbett Tiger Sanctuary.

I believe he was alerted from the sound of the shutter. He rewarded me with this sequence of images.

What an experience!!

Great set of pictures, the muted background makes the bird stand out.

I've seen a lot of fine posts of the moon and I thought I'd add my two cents.

The first one was taken this past Tuesday with a Canon SX50. The moon was just hanging there in the western sky. I shot it on full auto and did no PP on it.

The second one of the full moon was taken almost a year ago with the same camera. Again, on full auto. I did tweak it a little in Lightroom just to give it a little different look.

Hope you enjoy them!

Moon 1 would be nice as a smile on a face, both good pictures.

Thanks angler I am going to have a go at trying to get rid of the bins in no 1 but with all the lights it may not work. If any one wants to have a go they are more than welcome. Appreciate you looking. :D

Wonderful series, Val. I like them all but am especially partial to number one. What an amazing shot.

Thank you John, I too like no 1, shame about the bins but could not get the picture with out them in and could be a bit tricky to get rid of pp due to the zooming. I do not know how I got the manikin to come out of the window but was pleased when I saw it.

Wow Val!!!! These are really awesome. Did you use a tripod for these. Something else to put on my LONG list of things to try.:):)

Thank you very much Erv. Yes it was on a tripod,Manuel ISO 400 F5 1 sec were the settings I used. This is only the second time I have tried to do this and I was pleased with what I got. I have a few more good ones which I will be posting later. :D :D
