Didn't get the focus quite right on this one so tried to Photoshop it back to life.

Photoshop is great when you take a picture you like and it is a bit out of focus. This one looks great as a sketch, you covered your mistake very well.

Very good. I like what you have done to the first one, my favorite one, but not for the same reason as angler   . The only thing I did find a bit distracting is the out line of a man on the board in the left had side. Would it balance the picture up if it was taken out?

I guessed it would have done as we had it here, just thought some one may have been lucky enough to get some pictures.

Did any one down in Queensland manage to get a picture of this snake eating a croc. It was in one of our papers on Tuesday. A friend showed it to me today.

Snake and croc.

Thank you. Well, here goes:

First, I created a document the size of my target photo in Inkscape, a vector drawing program, and created the tesselation template (fig. 0)

Second, I opened up the photo in Photoshop, copying and pasting the tesselation on to it. (fig. 1)

Third, I highlighted the individual colors, one by one, switched from the adjustment layer to the background layer; copied and pasted , repeating until the entire photo was mapped. Then, with each copy/paste section, I set the layer style to inner shadow with the settings as shown in (fig. 2).

Fourth, I merged all the color layers into one and all the copy/paste layers into one and set the blending option to soft light. (fig. 3).

Lastly, I flattened the image and saved it.
Thank you. Well, here goes: br br First, I create... (show quote)

I was very interested in what you did to your picture. I down loaded the program you used to have a look and found that it downloaded things I did not want and I got loads of add ons popping up. When I tried to uninstall the bits that came down I did not want I found I could not. I had to do a system restore to get rid of them. This also meant that the Inkscape also went. Is there any way to get Inkscape with out all the things that seem to come with it?

Thanks so much for looking David, even though I didn't ask anyone to correct something I think is fine, I am in a way happy you did so. You showed exactly what not to do to a white bird in extreme sunlight. I used 1,3,000 because of the bright egret, sun and sky, I wanted the egret to part of the scene and not standout

Luci's latest set of photographs. Luci and just five other volunteers look after, feed and walk as many as they can of four to five hundred dogs. She obviously doesn't work with the elephants, I'm pleased about that. It is very tiring for her. it's up at 6am, breakfast at 7am, start work at 8am, they have a mid-day lunch break and work until 5pm. They try to walk as many of the dog as they can. Her little favourite Choo Choo got beat up last night with some other dogs and ended up in the hospital. They'd better watch out, if they get on the wrong side of my Luci, they'll be sorry  She'll be ok, she's a big strong Yorkshire Lass.

Very good, works well as b/w with a colored background. I like the way you have done the eyes to match the green behind them.
