Being that I already own the 5DII, I am leaning towards purchasing the D800 and will be a happy camper having both !

Many thanks go out to you for your having given your time to me today and I truly value that which you've written upon the subject..

Whenever I figure out how to display one of my photos upon this venue, it shall be done :)

Meanwhile, enjoy your day and be well...

Ok, if I am understanding this correctly, I can agree with the noise being reduced when imagery is transferred from one venue to another venue; however, when multiple samples are transferred together for comparison ~ regardless of the priciples provided by the given formulas and their resulting presentations, the noted differences in regards to noise, resolution, contrast, etc, ~ the given images can be said to be accurately respresented for comparison ~ even if the original qualities were not able to had been transferred onto other recipient's monitors..

Kymarto, you have gone out of your way by having provided terrific images for compaison !

I can easily see the extra resolution (sharpness) that the Nikon has, especially at ISO 100 which is the range in which I will probably be making most of my exposures..

When you have the time, I would be much interested in knowning your choice of glass for the Nikon.. Am thinking of lenses for portraits (indoors and outdoors) as well as for small still life settings that are set up within old wood boxes, etc.. for the presentation of artifacts and ? AND - is there much difference, with your experience, between the D800 & the D800E ?

You are a real pro and I Thank you so much for your time !

Good Morning..

Do any of you own Nikon's D800 or D800E as well as Canon's EOS 5D Mark II or Mark III ~ and would be willing to give an unbiased personal review as to your thoughts about them and or your opions upon each ?

Would appreciate your thoughts :)

Thank You..

LOL, you are probably 100% correct, yet I am hoping that someone among us has both or all three of them whereby they will give an unbiased accessment :)

Thanks for your comments..

Did you decide to go with Amazon, B&H, or elsewhere ?

I have no affiliation with either; just being nosey, but I will attempt to justify my being nosey because I am about to make a similar purchase as was yours ~ which I have not done for a couple of years and, mostly, will well accept hearing about your satisfaction with your purchase :)

Thank You..

Good morning to all :)

Currently, I am using Canon's EOS 5D Mark II, but my curiosity is forcing me to ask for information about Nikon's D800 and or Nikon's D800E and if any among you have had an opportunity to compare the differences of image qualities ? In a nutshell, I suppose that I am asking for you personal opinions in regards to which camera among the three is your favorite and the reasons behind your assessment..

Thank You & have a great day..

Sue, I have purchased many products from Amazon and never had a problem with any of their products, although, I have never purchased cameras or camera lenses from Amzon..

I have always had good service from B&H and have never had problems with their cameras nor their camera lenses. With this said, you might give consideration to the fact that Amazon deals with all kinds of products whereby B&H pretty much concetrates on selling electronics and camera products exclusively..

Hello to all !

I have just joined your forum because it can be seen that all of you are serious about photography and that you all communicate with one another in a kindly fashion..

I am a senior, now retired after working 45 years as a design engineer for a major truck manufacturer, but all forms of art ~ which photography also is ~ have always been "loves of life" hobbies for me.

When younger, I had taught photography classes at a local art center whereby I had concentrated my teaching efforts upon B&W (monochrome) photography by placing an emphasis upon the methods attributed to Ansel Adams and his Zone System techniques.

About six or seven years ago immediately subsequent to my retiring from work, I had purchased by very first digital SLR camera which was Canon's EOS 5D Mark II which I had found to be a remarkable tool to have in my hands !

Recently, I have been reading about Nikon's D800 & D800E whereas I would like to ask if any among you own either one of them or if you have any comments to make about their qualities and, perhaps, the results that can be had when using it's RAW files in conjunction with Adobe's Lightroom software ?

In closing, I will reiterate that it is totally a pleasure for me to join a group of individuals who are genuinely serious artisans who also enjoy the art form that photography has to offer.

Thank you for your time by reading my post and I assure you that I am looking forward to enjoying all of your posts in the upcoming future.
