You do realize that when you resort to name calling "fa**ot loving, subway trolling, sewer rats", "checkerboard or LIAR" you lose ALL credibility with intelligent people?

Intelligent people can express their thoughts without resorting to name calling - that is an elementary school playground tactic, and since Trump seems to excel at it it shows the intelligence of not only Trump but ANYONE that resorts to such behavior.

Why not learn to communicate as an intelligent, coherent member of society rather than simply proving to the world that you mentally never moved beyond elementary school?

I was serious in my little piece of black cloth statement. I carry a piece large enough to drape over the top of the camera and cover the eyepiece. Stick it in my pocket when I don't need it.

Those who have said that United is or is not making a profit are missing the point. If every insurance dropped out of ACA coverage the law would fail. THATS the point of my post. United dropped out because the did not see future benefits in participating. They did not want to wait untinn they were in the red.

Funny, because the most recent quarter shows an INCREASE IN PROFITS, so they are NOT LOSING MONEY.

When your earnings are EXCEEDING EXPECTATIONS then you are not worried about going in the red. That logic would mean that if your income were $5000 a month AND GROWING, and your bills were $3000 a month, that you would cut back your bills because you were afraid of losing money.

UHC's income is CONSISTENTLY EXCEEDING THEIR EXPENSES by even greater margins than they expected - that is not a sign of impending doom, it's proof that your business model is working.

I've simplified the financial report for those not familiar with reading them -

UHC income (total revenue - total expenses) in millions

Q1 2015 2640
Q2 2015 2895
Q3 2015 3018
Q4 2015 2428

Q1 2016 2960

As you can see, this company is NOT losing money, and is STILL beating all expectations. They are simply GREEDY BASTARDS.

Keep in mind that the dip in Q4 2015 earnings STILL beat expectations.

Interesting observations, but what do revenue increases have to do with net income increases? You can have one without the other.

I'd be more interested in what happened at the bottom line that at the top line.

If you think this has anything to do with losing money you are wrong, this is a chicken-s**t move by UHC to make the ACA look bad.

Here are the FACTS about UHC's profits for 2015 -

Ended the year exceeding analysts’ expectations.

Total revenue in the fourth quarter hit $43.6 billion, up 30% from the previous year’s fourth quarter.

For the full year, the Minnesota-based company said revenue grew to more than $157 billion, up 20% compared with 2014. Driving growth was the company’s Optum segment, which handles pharmacy benefit management, technology, clinics and other services. Optum’s 2015 revenue grew 42%, while UnitedHealthcare’s grew 10%.

YEARLY REVENUE UP 20% compared to 2014, LAST QUARTER EARNING UP 30% compared to last year.

As you can see, the ACA is NOT hurting UHC, they are just sick bastards that think 20% and 30% INCREASES IN REVENUE are not good enough.

If you buy that crap, I guess you better quit your jobs the next time they do not give you a quarterly raise of 30% and a yearly raise of 20%

As always, the FACTS separate the bulls**t from the partisan hysteria.

i would think that something that the photographer could just slide on over the rubber eyecup would be simpler and more convenient.

To set the record straight , John Wayne was interested in playing football at Annapolis and to gain a United States Navy Commission in the 1930's before World War 2 even started . He wanted to join the Army in around 1944-1945 , but they didn't want him . He was more valuable making movies for recruitment .
As far as his social commentary , he did make at times controversial statements . Haven't you ? Or are you a part of this new breed who judges a man not by his whole life but by a selective litmus test ?
Your kidding yourself and the entire bunch of so called " Progressives " . You're naive at best , and if you're in the business of judging people , then you better be near dam perfect yourself .
American culture is dying because of people like you . People of all backgrounds , religions and color have made controversial comments in their past , and some have had complete turn arounds in their lives too . But now it is fashionable to denounce people if they broke the rules according to the PC rule book . It's nonsense , it's naive and stupid . I've said controversial things too in the past because I'm human . I've also grown and learned things that allows me to evaluate my own past errors in judgement . That's called growing up . I'd suggest you do the same .
To set the record straight , John Wayne was intere... (show quote)

John Wayne made those statements at 64 years of age, 8 years before his death - it's safe to admit they represented his lifelong views.

A very reliable computer geek here told me to hold off until Win10 gets it's first upgrade issued. Don't remember his exact words, but I'm holding off.. Not broken don't fix....Win 7.

An UPGRADE to Windows 10 would be the next version of Windows. Perhaps your friend meant UPDATE. Not knowing the difference between UPGRADE and UPDATE calls the veracity of a "computer geek" into serious doubt.

UPDATE - In software terms, a patch (or update) is meant to address two issues -- (1) to correct bugs (or problems) within the software that makes it perform less than optimal and (2) to add new compatible hardware support.

UPGRADE - Upgrades are different in the sense that they do not address the two issues, but rather advances it to the next version.

Are you saying copying other people's images without their consent is okay? Isn't that theft? S-

Actually, that is LEGALLY NOT THEFT. It MAY be copyright infringement, but most likely it would fall under fair use statutes, particularly Nonprofit, educational, scholarly or research use; Transformative use: repurposing, recontextualizing, creating a new purpose or meaning.

I'm SURE that you will disagree with me, and that is fine as I could care less about the opinions of the wilfully misinformed.

Here is where I obtained my information on fair use, and I can guarantee you that they know more about fair use than ANYONE on this forum -
