Thanks a lot I really appreciate your insight and welcome your ideas. I had to fly to Idaho from Texas so was unable to take much equipment with me so unfortunately I didn't have a tripod with me. I had just gotten the camera and didn't have the manual with me so I was just shooting on Automatic. I realize that the photos leave a lot to be desired. These were shot at 5.6 with ISO of 800. this was at 300mm, with a 70 300 mm non VR lens so probably there was plenty of camera shake also. My main problem is probably in editing the photos. Thes were directly from the camera. I have since tried editing some of the pictures and someone on UHH redited them then someone else said the were better before he started so it leaves you not knowing which way to go. I also don't like the Orton effect a lot of people use and also making the photos resemble a painting. Hopefull I'll get better. I still prefer more natural looking pictures and not something that was created on Photoshop. Thanks again.
Mediocre Sunset nothing of any significient.
I live in Harker Heights which is about 15 miles West of Belton.
I realize that I'm new to UHH and have a lot to learn. That's why I joined. I appreciate any constructive comments and ideas as to how I can improve my photodraphs. However i feel that the following comments are uncalled for and irrelevent in helping someone try to improve their photogracpic skills. I think that you need to read UHH policies and obide by them or keep your comments to yourself. (streams in the trees are a dime a dozen in the NW)(it's a sign what can I say) (muddy road in the woods) I see no relevence in these statements an to me just show ignorance. The border on personal attacks. The sign was where Lewis and Clark camped while exploring the West which is a historical fact and of some interest to many people. There is no subject that anyone can put on here that will be liked by everyone. I'm sure I could find problems with anything that you put on here and I quarantee that whatever the topic is it will not be liked bt all.

She has about 500 acres with a lot of cows and a lot of wildlife deer every morning and evening and turkeys and coyotes and lots of othe birds etc.
Really appreciate your input. That's why I joined here to try and learn to improve my photos.
Thanks for your input. What is the best program for editing your photos ? I'm currently using Roxio and not very satisfied with that. Hope to get an answer from some of you professionals.
Wildlife are a little less cooperative. I have the same problems with wild animals it's hard to get close enough to get a good picture and to have them facing the right way.
Some pictures I took on my sisters ranch.
I live in Harker Heights, Texas. If you go up the Greer grade into Weippe. When you first get to town the road bears left to go to Pierce. Go straight and you will end up at Peterson Corners. Left fork goes to Pierce. Go straigh and keep following the paved road and it will take you right out to the Lolo creek area.
