What a great trip! My daughter did a year abroad in Madrid for her junior year in college. My wife and I made the trip out and spent most of our time in southern Spain we toured most of the cities you mentioned. We spent about a half of a day in Gibraltar and a day in the other cities visited. The Alhambra may be crowded, but it is worth the trip if you book your tickets in advance. Ronda is outstanding and will offer many photo ops, but then all of the cities and their historic sites are beautiful.
The best thing in Spain is the concept of the tapa. You buy a beer or glass of wine and they give you a little something to nibble on. When we first stopped in a bar in Madrid I couldn't figure out why the beer glasses were so small ;-)
