Amazing what a Profesional photography crew and models can do with a smartphone.
Best comment ever.

People can learn a lot by answering these questions as well as asking. Some members are kind enough to upload cool pictorials, links and some great tangential points.
2-8-8 is great
F/11 for lunar
Sunny 16. Made me realize f stops are much different for film and digital.
Then again light metering was critical for film
Especially because you probably did not have a built in light meter and you can't adjust the iso as easilly.
Good thread thanks
Digital handles it for you.

Well another myth blames Hera/Zues for this.
Women/girls were so overwhelmed by his beauty that they were unable to talk to him without saying idiotic things.
His story is actually more of a tradgedy than a story of outright vanity for which he has become synonymous
By the way that is one crisp photo.
I knew it was taken with a nikon camera.
Something about the sharpness and the whites.
Gorgeous

Had same problem.
Still have not nailed the moon.
Used live view. Canon camera
Shooting manual required at least a 2 stop underexposing
And as many a 4 stop underexposing .
When the moon is just rising seems to be the best time to shoot. The horizon makes the moon appear bigger.
I have shot high in the sky and have struggled with detail and color.
Stuck with post processing to get the color.
High end point and shoot seem to get better results.
Or something with a live view.
The moon does seem to confuse a dslr.

I got a lot out of shooting fountains & waterfalls
Play with the shutter speed to create different water effects. High shutter to stop the motion crisp and lower to blur the motion. Then play with the aperture to focus the foreground and back round in different ways. See how the iso changes.
You can make almost infinite unique pictures of the same shot.

I have been using the pixma pro for about 2 years
$25 ink generic are about as good as original
Prints do fade if left exposed in about 2 months

I want a cis continuous ink supply
I have seen for about $125.

I have not found any reviews.

Does anyone have any experience or recomendations.
I did the math and it looks like about a 7x
Savings

The disclosure project is the best
Dr Steven Greer has put together the
Best of the best on all that stuff.

Still does not have a clear shot of a ufo.

Some great points. I use a galaxy s5
Great video. Slow motion is great.

I took close ups of a dollar bill with my phone
And then broke out all my gear.
Tripods diopters zoom lenses etc.

It takes a lot to get a more detailed close up shot
Than the phone.

That being said it can't handle the low light situations anywhere close to dslr.

I will upgrade phones in a year or two and plan to
Include a gimbal for it.

I have not done any focus stacking or hdr with a phone camera but am looking forward to it.

Thanks for the info.
I think part of problem was selecting the right moon.
Getting the moon as close to the horizon as possible is the best.
When the moon is high in the sky it is brighter and less defined.

No way I can hand hold and get the shot.
I'm going to take a closer look at sony.

Thanks so much for all the great information.

Maybe you could photograph that alien base on the Martian Moons. Might have to wait for the next generation lenses

That is the 1st clear picture of a ufo ever.lol

Great shot of the moon.
Just curious new to posting here.
Is there a way to see the Metadata for your moon exposure.

I had trouble getting "crispies" (sharp) exposures. Of the moon.
I use a Canon 5dmkii or a Canon t2i. With a 100-400 mm and one or both of the 2x and 1.4x extender.
I have a beefy video tripod and a Manfrotto 501c

I have only had success with underexposing between 2 and 4 stops

I have had my best results with live view.
I am by midway airport Chicago so there is a lot of light pollution.

Any you tips. looking forward to trying again thus cycle.

Thanks and great pic and composition.

Canon xti was 1st dslr 2 yrs ago.
Moved to 5dmkii then purchased a canont2i
Love the t2i. Battery lasts forever, video
Much better than xti but no as good as 5dmkii

That being said I love the xti with battery grip, 3 extra battery's and 2 chargers lol. Pro style controls
Learned so much from that camera. It doesn't do the work for you. Shooting in natural light requires solid camera settings. You can take great pictures with that camera.

Now I use it mostly for time lapse. I got a rain cover for it and don't hesitate to take chances.
I almost make a point to abuse the shutter count

Don't get rid of a cheap quality rig burn it up doing time lapses.
