I am attempting for the first time to shoot Christmas lights at Opryland. Can anyone tell me what might be my best settings for hand held. I haven't done any night shooting at all. Thanks

I am shooting with a Nikon D7000 with batter grip. A month or so ago my camera fell over on the tripod causing considerable damage to my 18-200 lens. The camera appeared to be okay. My problem is when I check the battery status, the camera only displays the status of the battery in the camera.

I called Nikon tech support, they had me hold to two green buttons to reset, that worked for a couple of days. Since then it has been intermittent, at times I would see the status of both, on most occasions, only the battery inside the camera. Has anyone had this problem, or can offer any advice. Thanks

Regarding your lens, the "18mm" end of the lens will give you some wide angel range, when you get up the "55mm" end of the lens, you are shooting at what would be normal vision range.

You will not be able to bring in the subjects in the distance with that lens, however, if you make sure your is capturing at the largest file size, you can crop out the unwanted in post precessing and still have a good quality image.

Just wanted to say hello to everyone, I am relatively new to the photography community. I have been involved with graphic design for a number of years, both teaching and working with clients.

Over the years I have shot photos for my various projects, I have recently began to enjoy nature and wildlife photography. Looking to get more involved and meet people of like mind. I hope to both share and learn from each of you.

Blessings

Joe
