Help me on the photos of which one is the most usable. All comments welcomed.

"Which one is most usable?" That depends on your usage.
From this eye, #2. The wood grain and the railing detail equal "Keep Me!"

I have had two friends restore really old houses. It really would have been better and easier to build a new house. You could say "this house has good bones" - but the "bones" aren't plumb anymore and the floors aren't level and it is difficult to replace doors and windows until you lift up the house and put a new foundation under it and even then you have to replace all the plumbing and electrical, and then the roof, and the floors are badly damaged from the rain that leaked in, and................

If you subscribe to Shutterbug magazine I wonder if you have taken a look at the "Picture This" feature in this month's edition (Jan 2018). There are normally some very nice images published in this section. As a matter of fact, I have had two of my photos published over the years. The theme in this issue is "Reflections". On page 72 one of the images chosen is entitled "COFFEE". It is an extremely blurred photo of what the captions describes as "Enjoying a cup of coffee in my backyard while reflecting on life." Upon first glance I see a blurred white circle and a blurred background of boards. While I do not want to berate or denigrate the photographer, I am at a loss to understand why the editors felt that this was an image worthy of publication.

Your comments are welcome, pro or con. I am sure some will be interesting.

Just another way the magazine finds out about their publication and their readers. Nothing like a little controversy

I see we don’t live that far apart. Do you get deer in your yard in Milwaukee?

Tikva, yes I do but I don't get to see them very often, only the signs they leave.

Those are some 'lucky shots' that many of us would like to be able to get,
and I tend to pretty much totally agree with bigwolf40's comment above.

I'm sorry if I offend any hunters out there, but it irks me when I see all
those little hunter's cabins/outhouses setting up on poles in an area of
deer habitat; where 'hunters' sit and wait for a 'trophy' to walk by so they
can shoot it.

That, to me, isn't hunting! Hunting is when you're down on the ground
and 'hunting', not sitting in a 'hide-out' waiting for your victim/trophy to
simply walk by.

Sorry for the rant!! Again, I really like the pictures and that opportunity
you had to get those 'shoots' . . .
