Thia is my first attempt at focus stacking macros. Not a 100% successful as I'm sure you will notice, but I think a worthy first attempt. The issues arose during capture which now i see I must be much more accurate in focusing. These were done in PS5. Any and all suggestions are welcome.

40 years ago, when newly married, my wife and I each bought Mamiya Sekor SLRs, took a local photography class and even developed our own B&W prints. Eventually we got real jobs and a family and had no time for photography. Now we are Realtors in the Palm Springs area and I bought a Canon T2i to supplement our listing pictures which are taken by a professional. Film to Digital is quite a difference! So much to learn!

As an aside, 40 years ago, we went to a local art gallery to see a "photo exhibit". I was aghast when I saw the 8"x10" pictures and they were not even in color and the asking price was $500 each. In the early 70's $500 was a huge price to pay for anything especially some B&W pictures of some mountains. I went over to the artist hoping to learn why anyone would pay so much for a B&W picture. I was truly lucky to have Ansel Adams take the time to explain why his photos could draw such a price and I have been in aw of his photos ever since. He taught me not to look so much at the subject but rather the entire picture - it's all about detail - you can see so much in his pictures. Only if I had had $500 back then...

Anyone can open a thread on any topic, Ps being one. You'll find people willing to follow your thread; sometimes having much to offer, sometimes not.
I have found a sincerity here not found in many forums. And it's like a breath of fresh air! There are young people, old people, cranky people, friendly people. But...they are all people, terrific people. And all willing to learn with you, or teach with you.
I clicked on your thread "Dumb Question" knowing there are no dumb questions, sometimes dumb answers, though.

I captured the sunrise this summer on an inlet on the Olympic Peninsula, Washington State. They are panoramic HDR images with several individual images stitched together. Equipment is Canon 50D, 18-200 lens, tripod and Cokin graduated neutral density filter. Camera settings were ISO100, f22, three exposures of 1/25,1/50, and 1/13sec. One image is in the original color, the second is converted to Black and White the third is converted to Sepia and the fourth is a red filter. Comments would be appreciated.
