worth a second look - i think the light on the fronds / leaves is what makes this stand out for me
I agree - those leaves are great!
Thank you. Mother nature blessed me with the lighting, I was fortunate to be there to record it.

That is a great way to spend an afternoon, you will surely learn something new about photography, and probably be inspired by the photos. But stay away from the carrot cake in the cafe, IT'S ADDICTING !

There is still hope DJ, at least they are keeping up with the times.
Jerry: Thank you.
EarthArts: Thank you

I JUST missed adding my two cents and was gonna say tents in a row, too!
LOL
What fun these are!
Thanks for responding Tilde. If I was in my usual procrastination mode you would have gotten in. :D
What fun!
I just had to Google DIA, and can see why you folks thought that was it.But Jarneyd was the first correct answer followed closely by AK Dreamer.
It is however only one very large tent that popped up overnight for a fund raising event at St. Mary's hospital.
Thank you all for responding.
The Green Heron is outstanding. I agree about the great background too.
Thank you.
Dandy Lions. !.
Nice shooting.

Photo guy: thank you.
Horseart: Thank you.

Jaedmund :you can buy small bags of cement and use it as you need it. Plaster of paris is another alternative, but I think it is not as heavy (stable ) as cement. You could also adde some rocks to the container for added weight.
Bedgmon : Thank you. Of course you can use this technique but you gotta post your results.
Va1940 : Thank you, I got lucky with the natural lighting.
Rlaugh : Thank you.
Wahawk :Thank you. It will be on the wall if I can find the space.
Tilde531 : Thank you for the kind words. I watched a man at the rose garden at the zoo using a large swatch of black velvet draped over a bush behind the subject. I imagine that would work very well and beats carryiing around a can of cement with a 3 foot piece of lumber sticking out of it.
CasaLinda: Thank you.
Photoman : Thank you.
Lancer : Thank you glad to pass along a useful technique.
Erv: thank you. foam board sounds loke a goode Idea. I'll give it a try.
RonMos: Thanks for commenting.
14K: Thank you.
Docrob: Thanks for the kind words. I will be doing more of these as the tulips open up.I agree the fonds do make this photo.

Ahhhhh...what a good idea. I wondered how so many photos of flowers had the black background. what do you have in the coffee can to hold the 1X2 (or whatever size the wood is)?
Thanks for taking the time to comment Jaedmund.
Yes it is a 1x2 and the coffee can is filled with cement.
I have a variety of sizes and use them in varied configurations for my table-top studio to hold backgrounds, clamp-on lights etc.
