Dave,

I really appreciate your negatives, and find them all rather significant for my use of it. I was right on the fence when I posted this question, but now a bit more "negative" about it. And that's OK. That's the reason I asked.

Thanks much for your candid comments.

Did both of you responders experience a DSLR prior to your acquiring the Oly E-M10? How did/do you feel the IQ compared to the DSLR? I keep reading in reviews that the E-M10's IQ is one of the few "cons" of this camera. Do you agree or not?

Thanks
Bob

I've been wrestling with getting one of these for a short time now. Main reasons would be for the smaller size and the 2X crop lens that would help with wildlife. I would need to part with my DSLR gear in order to do so. So far, from my limited research, it sounds like a reasonable trade off for me. But I would like your opinions. I'm especially interested in any negative feedback about the E-M10. I have a good handle on it's advantages. So what don't/didn't you like about it? Please restrict comments to this particular camera. Thanks.

Thanks for the above comments. My first choice would be to make a trade for the OMD gear. But if that fails to happen, the reconditioned OMD price is very reasonable.

Looking for a good deal on a well cared for used Oly OMD -EM-10, OR EM 1 or EM 5 camera with at least one lens. Would consider a cash deal, but prefer a trade for my LN Canon t2i and a 2 or 3 Canon lenses. PM if interested, and with any questions. Thank you.

I still have, and use, Picasa 3 as my main post processing software. Is Google's replacement better or worse than Picasa 3, in your opinion?

May I ask just how close your feeders are to your house(camera)? And what gear was used. What's the name of the bird in the last photo? Looks like your feathered friends are a lot like ours here in southern Minnesota. Nice shots. Thanks for sharing.

If it were me, I would have stated "body only". But that's me. Doesn't state anything about the lens being offered under another listing.

Speaking of good economical fisheye lenses, of which this Rokinon is certainly one, does anyone have experience with the Lensbaby fisheye?
Even cheaper. But is it any good?
Excellent photo samples above. As you can see, not all shots taken with a fisheye need to look like they were.
This thread is making me seriously consider purchasing another one of these Rokinon fisheyes. This would be my 3rd time.

I had a Rokinon 8mm f3.5 lens in the past. Not sure about the HD8M-C or HD delineation, though. I used it with my Canon Rebel series cameras. I'd say it produced surprisingly good results, and was just plain "fun" to play with. But, as with some of my other acquisitions, I just didn't use it enough to rationalize keeping it. But, if I felt the desire to shoot more "fishy" subjects, I would not hesitate to purchase that very same lens again. Rokinon has a very good reputation of late for their manual lenses. I'm considering a wide angle lens of their's as we speak. Their prices are certainly attractive as well. GO FOR IT.

Michael,

Kinda makes me not want to touch the SD card anymore. But as I said, when in the field I always travel with a SD card wallet; with cards well separated from each other. But your weather condition warning is well taken. Thanks

I asked my original question basically to learn if any mysterious chemical properties would manage to pass from one card to others as they "rubbed noses" while laying atop each other loose in the same box. Apparently there's no issues with this, so I'm OK. But should they start reproducing, you'll all be the next to know.
AS mentioned earlier, I have several SD card wallets, and use them, for when off on photo trips.

Again, THANKS ALL, for your very complete feedback on the subject asked.

Thanks folks. I happen to have 3 different memory card cases that I fill and take when going out to shoot. But still have many cards that don't often get to go on the outings.

Really, the only downside for using my plastic box for storage is that I probably tend to use the cards on top over the ones on the bottom of the box. I need to change that.

Like many of you, I have a massive number of SD cards of varying capacities, and ages. I currently store them in a small plastic storage box. They are not in their original individual plastic protective containers, but loose in this storage box. Assuming that they are not becoming physically damaged in this box(which they are not), is there really any harm having them all in there together(touching one another)? To date, I haven't noticed any issues.
As a matter of habit, I always delete them before putting them back in the camera. But I don't "always" delete them before storing them in the box.
Thanks for any thoughts and/or expertise.

Bob
